You might be able to though if you use DVI?

I didn't read through that entire thread and I'm not sure about that "3DTV Play" software but I think there might be a way to get it.

I think Tommyboy posted a guide to Nvidias and Tridef in this thread back around page 10.

Also I have a 7950 and the Tridef software sadly still isn't exactly plug and play ;)

Thats what i did,took a week for Samsung to confirm i would get the vat back.
 
Received my monitor 2 days ago, again as previous poster mentioned my box didnt seem like it had been genuinely sealed.... just a bit of selotape closing the box....

Only had chance to power it up tonight and I am greeted with 3 dead pixels. Back to OCUK it goes!
 
Anyone have any idea how to stop games going into 3D mode automatically?

I have removed the game (Half Life 2:Episode 1) from the Game Launcher, but it still split screens it when I load it.
If I try and turn the 3D off ingame, it simply crashes and I get hl2.exe has stopped working.

Edit::

I have now removed all game profiles from the Sync Master Tridef program yet when I load them they STILL load up split screen. This is incredinly annoying what with some of them crashing when trying to disable 3D through it using the NumLock * short cut.

Has anyone got any ideas about this / had this happen to them?

make sure tridef is closed (not running in the back ground) & game should run as normal.

Is it just me or is the Samsung VAT cashback microsite insecure? It seems odd that a site which takes your full name and address etc and then wants your bank account details wouldn't be on https...

...or is everybody phoning through their bank details at step 5?
 
Okay monitor is up and running looks amazing.

I just tried 3D, and then I realised I haven't got this tridef thing you guys are on about.

Did you get 2 DVD's? I got one DVD which wouldnt work properly (something to do with flash). But I can't find this Tridef thing anywhere.
 
Browse through the CD, I had the same problem.
You can just download the one from tridef (The Sammy oem) and then download and install 5.2 over it.

My 7970 should be here tomorrow.

Please let me know how you get on. I would love to know your impressions with the move from a 680 to a 7970. General impressions as well 3D gaming impressions!! Because I am seriously considering doing the same thing.
 
Got mine today, reasonably impressed so far (coming from a 22" 120hz Viewsonic):

+Blacks are... blacker
+Seems fine for gaming
+Vivid colours but with a good range of presets
+Good price (~£154 when I get the VAT back)

-Don't like the touch-sensitive buttons, I turned the screen off by accident earlier when my mouse cable brushed against it :( They are "cool" but not particularly practical, e.g. you can't just feel for the right button and press it, and the labels are quite hard to read with the bright screen in your face.

Haven't tried 3D yet as I don't have proper stereoscopic vision so suspect it will be a waste of time.

Lol, I still haven't set it up would you believe! This weekend though I will. Either been too busy or too tired.

I got my invoice emailed to me by attachment in pdf form from the webnote request.
I emailed samsung and sent them the image as extra proof of purchase, just in case. Got this today. :)
