It's not a spoiler if you already have an idea of how the game works...???

I, and nor can anyone telepathically judge what a mob has, that's the whole point lol, who is going to be sad enough to go:

"Right! skelly king, he has 1425345345345 hp right? ok that's spoiled the game for me omfg i'm gunna slit my wrists and cancel my pre-order"

Seriously... When you play the game do you count how much hp they have? or do you play the game...i know what i do, and i could care less for the "guide" it's a bunch of bull.

But crying over hp/resistances is no where near a spoiler, or going to break the game for you.

each to there own i guess, just seems childish to call HP counts as spoilers, you will kill that boss many times over (with ease) so it makes 0 difference knowing any of what you may or may not have read.

Give over will you. Nobody is impressed by your elitist knowledge of the mechanics.

People in this thread don't want to read spoilers. Whether you think they are spoilers or not is irrelevant if numerous people have asked for them not to be posted. I think knowing what the mobs that are going to appear later in the game is a spoiler, and other people have taken issue with what's been posted.

Is it really taxing for you to not be a douche. Nobody has had a problem with them being discussed as long as it's out of view for the courtesy of people that want to enjoy the discussion without seeing the game guide.

What's childish is you refusing to acknowledge that other people are going to enjoy the game for different reasons as yourself. It would take three seconds to make a thread to discuss things that people are concidering spoilers, instead you're arguing and telling people that there wrong and if they knew the game better the guide wouldn't spoil it for them. Drop the elitist bs already.

Some weird goings on, my pre-order was refunded this morning...

Who did you order with? that does seem strange, and not good so close to realease lol. hope you get it sorted.

LOL - elitist knowledge? i wish but Sorry i just play the game, and learn from it as most people would...

i agreed that "spoilers" should be tagged so i dunno what your on about there?

I don't care what you or i think is a spoiler, everyone is different - the problem was that it's nothing to do with how you will play the game, even if you know the HP and resistances of one boss, you will still go and kill it your own way.

"What's childish is you refusing to acknowledge that other people are going to enjoy the game for different reasons as yourself"

what? i'm going to play it for fun and enjoyment - why do you play games???

you seem upset so i'll leave you alone from now on, it's only a forum lmao.

Is the Closed Beta still open? Just fancied myself another run through (to hype or un-hype myself to buy the game) and I'm getting a message that Battle.net is down. Is this temporary maintenance or is the Closed Beta now... well, closed?

as said, it's closed but have you never played a dungeon crawler/ hack n slash before?

It's basics are the same, just it's normally a bit better with diablo lol.

Psst, I know the skeleton kings weakness

When it tells you to put the crown on his head, you put a bag on his head instead and he can't see you!

I've played them, but I'm not so sure I want to spend the money on D3. Pretty simple.

It's a dungeon crawler, hack and slash.

Your character is an awesome death dealing killing machine (various classes)

You go around killing hundreds of thousands of enemys, with a few bosses thrown in for a good "challenge"

Thousands of items, and hundreds of different builds for the classes, unlimited re playability.

Single player, multi player and mmo all rolled into one, you can join or leave a friend (or random) game at anytime to play with other people, or when you are fed up and wanna roll alone you can do it...

Thanks :)

Well boys, I think I'll get involved :)
Couple of quick questions though:-

1) is a headset essential (not a problem if it is, just means I'll need to make sure I get one)?

2) Worryingly, this thread seems to be taking the game very seriously, which is all good and I'm not knocking it, but are people like me and others who are brand new to Diablo going to be welcome online?
Is the community friendly or elitist??

Diablo has a pretty fanatic fanbase that have been waiting for this game for the best part of a decade. Prepare for either super fanboyism or super harsh critique as they are inevitably either enarmoured or disappointed :p

1) No. If you find yourself playing with the same people over and over it would be a nice addition though.

2) This isn't like LoL, you won't get screamed at for being a noob. It's more like WoWs grouping system where generally most people are helpful but you will always run into a few ********.

In D2.. my sorcerer just destroyed everything. I'm assuming the fast cast and mana regen will appear in set based armour. Just think what damage a fast cast cold+lightning does with a bottomless supply of mana... if they're resistant to everything but fire.. my old boots with the fastest movement rate used to allow me to run around with a large fire trail and the mob stupidly chasing through the fire.

My assassin was just as bad. Not much hit taking ability (read none) but things just died.

Looking forward to it but not the RSI!

Wizard plays a lot different than sorc tho, at least from what I've seen in the beta.

I don't think there will be much arcane power regen items, not enough to spam spells for more than 10 or so seconds at least.

The thing is, if you look at wizards skills, the % of weapon damage dealt is roughly the same as from all other classes so it doesn't seem like it will be dealing a lot more damage than others.

Also, arcane power is the lowest and quickest going power source and it doesnt increase with level or int.

But then again, it's hard to say without seeing the high level item affixes and stats. Either way, gimped class or not, I will probably be the best wizard you'll know on those forums !

Like any online games, L4D2, TF2, WoW, GW2, you have noobs, hardcore players, and in-between. While bad players in some game can get you into trouble (which I don't mind that much tbh, it's just a game), the good thing with Diablo is that if you mess up, it will be mostly your own fault. You don't have to rely on players and player classes to have fun. Besides, normal mode is pretty easy.

just checked my tesco order.

Status: Awaiting Despatch.

Estimated despatch: Within 2 to 3 Weeks from 29 Apr 2012

no money taken yet.

That's odd they took money when I placed the order a few weeks back, so I'm wondering if they shouldn't have (hence the refund) and will take the money on release?

So apparently the CE is sold out in the UK now and looking at the prices of the CE on the auction site I've decided to put mine up for sale on there too!

Going to be interesting to see if HC mode is something that will be viable for completing Inferno, as apparently blizzard have said that HC inferno isn't really intended. Perhaps hinting at insta-death mechanics that have to be figured out/avoided, and as they've mentioned "you will die in inferno" a lot it kind of reinforces that. I suppose the aim of HC will be to max out to 60 (in hell) and have some crazy achievement for completing Inferno as well. It's my feeling that they've taken some wow mentallity to inferno, in the sense that you'll have to keep going at bosses and wiping before you get that lucky kill to improve to the next tier etc, which isn't HC friendly in the slightest. Can't wait to try it either way.
