Which 2x4Gb 680s do they cost more than...?
Why 4GB 680s?
It would have to be an 8GB GTX 690 to be the equivalent of two of those.
True but to be fair you are paying for 2x2gb in one card compared to 2x2gb in two cards. (quad SLI over dual SLI)
2x2GB on one dual GPU card or 2GB on each of two single GPU cards the result is the same, effectively 2GB of VRAM.
Yes I know. But one card over 2 cards seems a greater advantage... not that Ive ever even used a dual GPU card before.
I just read the AnandTech review for this card. In most of their games suite, they're testing the card at a resolution of 5760x1200 to find scenarios where it makes a reasonable difference, and even then the frame rate is often on the wrong side of 80.
If a feasible usage case for the card involves three monitors, I can't help but feel that it's a solution to a problem which doesn't really exist.
I'm just amazed it costs more than 2 separate cards

Even if I was a millonaire I would not buy one of these whats the point!!
There really is no point in spending close to a grand for a graphics card, hell you could build a really good rig for that!!
Stupid product for stupid money that only stupid people will buy!!!
Just my 2p!
Dont flame just my personal opinion!![]()

If I was a millionaire I'd buy two in a heartbeat. Guess I must be stoopid then.

What Surveyor said. I assume a single 680 clocks better as well. I think allot more people are running higher resolutions these days and with BF3 it's really required if you want to run 60FPS constant with AA and not FXAA.
Actually the 690 clocks twice a single 680. Though I have a feeling it gets diminishing returns.
It doesn't.
How so? I thought Dual GPU's worked in the same sense that Dual SLI did?
