cool another radical racer...

t1, were the tarmac changes color you want to brake a good cars length before that and be hard on the brakes down to 3rd turn in abit earlier than you think and get your right hand side wheels on the inside apex and just power out...

Thanks for the quick reply, I'll give that a try.

I would love to do the racing school, but generally don't get to play that early. My children are still young so I first have to make sure they get to bed before I it racing time.

Guys I don't get this game, can anyone help me understand what it is? is it just a online racing game?

yeah just race against other humans no ai...

you cant practice and test as much as you want...

it runs till 9pm and theres always somebody in there that will help you...

doinh 1:05 around limerock in a cup mazda fairly consistently now :D

aparently the roadster is faster on clickwise circuits though?

Post up your replays if you need some assistance, I'm pretty quick around LRP in the cup, my best is a 59s flat.

As for Cup vs Roadster, personally I dislike the roadster because the A pillar blocks my view and the gearing is too long.

I think the gearing helps people to drive the Roadster because you remain in third more often, whereas 2nd in the Cup makes it rotate quite quickly, but I actually prefer rotation to understeer.

Also a left hand drive car is actually better for clockwise circuits because you get better visibility of the apex compared to RHD (hence why many real race cars are left hookers).

Thanks, I will make sure to join when I can.

Done 4 or 5 more laps in the Radical and getting the hang of T1 now. Gaining a lot of time out of there now as I can get onto the power much quicker than previously. Overall lap time is till the same though as I am not consistent yet:(

I finally took a photo of my eyefinity setup.

I have seen a few discussions on this, however as someone pointed out the world records for both cars are very similar. It is a lot about feel for the car. If I remember correctly the Cup has better acceleration due to the gearing, but they gave the roadster tyres with slightly better grip.

As an example the world record on Lime Rock park is 58:509 in the Roadster and 85.529 in the Cup. So either pick the one you prefer, or remember that the Roadster is used in the advanced Rookie series and the Cup in the D License series. So pick the appropriate one to practice for a potential series.

i was starting to wonder if i would ever improve but now im doing 1:04 fairly often and managed a 1:03.314 in my last race.
i was 2nd for the first 8 laps and probably would have been able to hold the position if my 7 year old didnt wander in the room and made me lose concentration...

I know that feeling when the wife or one of the children walk past me...

did a 1:02.9 in the mazda cup on lime rock :D slowly getting there tenth by tenth lol...

i lowered the fov a lot and beefed up the self centering spring tension on my wheel which seems to be a huge help for hitting apexs.

the games sugested fov when you feed it your monitors dimensions and viewing distance is way to high.

my optimum map from my sector times was under 1:02 so guess im not far off the pace for rookies now once i can string it all together consistently

How unforgiving is the Radical, literally no correction allowed else it spits you off. I've managed a 1:06 after a few laps but every lap I feel like the next corner is my last, not sure I like that!

In fairness this is my second ever practice run with it and the same goes for Watkins, never driven there before.

give it time mate, its so much fun when you click with it.

if you have only done 2 sessions in the rad and at watkins and your doing 1.06's then your doing great..

the radical dosent need much steering input...

I think I'm getting the hang of it at last. I managed a 4th place and my fastest lap was a 1.05.8 which is good for me. I managed not to get in a wreck with an Italian as well despite their best efforts :p
