***The Official Samsung Galaxy S III Thread***

think i might get this, not keen on the blue, not keen on the design, not keen on the software but the one x does not have a RGB

going to get it on the 24 month one plan cause i will use 10s of GB a month, scrapping the landline broadband

might just sell it tho and keep the nexus, not sure yet

Choosing a phone you don't particulary like because the notification LED has an extra colour seems very odd too me..

Multicolour notification LEDs are a requirement of my idiotically specific phone criteria too, so it doesn't surprise me that much. Not having red for text, green for email, blue for fb and purple for bbm/other instant text service would drive me absolutely nuts. Had it on my Milestone and now my BB and couldn't live without it.

I find it completely and utterly bizarre as well

Especially if that is the only reason as to why you're not getting a phone just because of that........

Surely you see the LED blinking no matter what colour it is and are going to look to see what the message/missed call etc. is anyway?

Do we know for a fact the S III LED is RGB anyway? I haven't seen it reported anywhere and I've only seen it flashing red and green, like the X.

Edit: Google suggests that it is.

Either way, it seems a very strange (and minor) point! :p

lol i had no idea they even flashed diff colours. Am colourblind n always just open phone if i get a blinking light, never know if its txt or e-mail until i look. The small luxuries you miss being colourblind eh!

I have my phone on totally silent with no vibrate for everything bar calls for the majority of the time. While working or busy it's much nicer to be able to just look at an LED and know whether it's something important - ie, a text rather than an email or a facebook notification.

Utterly critical feature to me, but as a few here know my phone requirements are specific down to a T :p

You only need more if you stream though, and not everyone does!

T-Mobile's data policy is very sensible now as well. Data usage for website browsing is not included in the allowance as that is unlimited.

Only stuff they detect as downloads or streaming adds up.

glad to see im not alone lol, its one of those features that if i had never had it [htc desire] i would never have missed it

i find it also quite useful in the car.

i use
green for missed call,
blue for gf text
Dark blue for gf missed call .. lol
pink for text
white for 100% charge
red for low bat
gold for charging
orange for email

right now i can see i have emails, texts and its charging
purple for no signal - surprisingly useful

Oh it doesn't take long to rack up data when you're connected at speeds exceeding 7.2Mbps. And on screens this large people will want to opt for hq playback as well.

I just did a test by watching the latest J J J JWow! which is 2mins 20sec long and that used 49.9MB of data.

50Mb in 2mins watching a YouTube video, so scale that over a month!

When lying in bed it is useful! :p

More so for watching TV shows on the mobile though, not films as obviously that is what the big TV or my monitor with a good sound system is for :p

Also great for streaming your films etc. on your PC hard drive to the big TV down stairs with ease via MHL cable.

Meh, I have a TV near my bed.

Can see how it would be useful if you've no TV in your bedroom though.

Yup but I was in the 500Mb is enough for me boat until I moved to 3 and got double the speed and suddenly 1GB isn't enough so never underestimate requirements!

Interestingly Buymobiles lists a number of One Plan tariffs for 3, but there is only 1.

The handset on 3 is only a 16GB though - they have said they were told 32GB and 64GB wont be released until the end of the year...... yet Vodafone claim they'll be stocking the 32GB . Who to believe??

Voda have exclusivity for the 32GB model for the first month for some reason. It has been posted on a few sites.

Mobiles.co.uk doing it free on £51/month on voda for 12 months + cashback = under £600 all in. £582 to be exact

Voda's 12 month contracts offer excellent overall value for someone wanting to keep up with the latest phones.

If you look at it outright, £500 sim free, you're paying £82 for 12 months service, which has 1200mins, unlim text, 750meg internet. That's how I justify my BB9900 12 month contract :D

Thats how my contract with o2 is.
