Are there any sites where i can learn about profession's and general things about levelling etc, i really want to get a idea of what i should be doing before the games released, i will be choosing a witch doctor, so anything specific would be a huge help.

Other than that pretty much everything is speculation. We don't know what the stats will be like (to my knowledge) at high level, nor the sort of modifiers we can expect on armour or on gems. And we don't really know weapon/equipment stats either.

ok thanks, im guessing its going to be a case of learning as i go then, its mainly the profession's, im gathering there's certain profession's best for certain classes, i want to start the profession's straight away and skill them as i lvl, ive played games before and ended up getting to max level and starting profession's from scratch which takes hours and lots of $$$$, which isnt handy :p

Professions?

There's no professions that you pick for your character and level up like in WoW or GW.

You have two artisans that can do profession like things for your character. Everyone gets both of them regardless of class or choices made.

Information on the effects of Gems can be found here for those who didnt know already. :)

They haven't been updated for an age and are almost certainly out of date. They only give details for helm and weapon (we know that far more than that will be socketable), and I'm pretty sure that those bonuses aren't what will be in the final game. Last I heard was that they'll be + stats. Strength, Int, Dex, etc.

to level a profession costs money, and all the patterns cost rite?, i rather do it as i go along, rather than doing at at max level

so there's only two profession's which everyone gets anyway?, i gathered there were more.

Yes. I think most people will do it as they go along. They produce gear that will be only appropriate for a set of levels before it becomes useless and unusable.

It'll be best to keep them progressed to match your appropriate level in order to benefit the most from them.

Right guys can someone clear this up for me as im a little confused by it. So there are 4 modes normal, nightmare, hell and inferno I think. Now as I understand it people grind dungeons for loot similar to wow but either MP or SP.

What I dont understand is the transition between say normal to nightmare. Does it start the game completly from scratch just on the harder difficulty? Or do you chose to enter certain dungeons you've allready cleard and then choose the difficulty you want it to be for the second clearence ? I do appreciate you keep the items and levels you acquired from the previous difficulty just confused by this. :P

Once you've completed one difficulty you can then choose(?) to move up to the next difficulty. You'll retain all your XP, Skills and Gold for your character also. When you do enter dungeons there are always random elements, so there may be differences between playthroughs. :)

Why is everything with loot in it similar to WoW

Dont be pedantic I was using it as an example as WOW is the most succesful dungeon based game there has ever been :P

That said I still dont unserstand "you get to choose the difficulty". So basically you finish the game on normal then choose to play the next difficulty which restarts the full game from the start just keeping your level and items from the previous playthrough?

This.

The real thing with the the difficulties (that is different to most games) is, you have to play them in order to progress. There's no "I'm a gaming god, I'll just start on the hardest level". Even if you could start on a harder difficulty right away, you'd get minced by even the weakest enemies.

When you finish normal, you'll be level 30ish which will be enough to start nightmare difficulty. The most rewarding fun is at the hardest difficulties though. :)

Yep. But you'll be able to progress your character further. You'll get better loot than was in normal, more gold will drop and you'll be able to level further with the higher XP from harder mobs.

You'll also keep your artisan progress across difficulties and characters.

If you could skip right to the end of the game on the next highest difficulty, would you really want to?

More likely than not you would get your *** handed to you :p

You start from the beginning when you go to the next difficulty up.

edit: orderoftheflame made my reply redundant, i've really got to type faster...

I've pre-ordered my copy from GAME, however I've ordered from a retail store rather than online. I cant comment on how good their delivery is but when you pre-order in store then they reserve you a copy for 48 Hours after release for you to pick up.

Oh, and it's free to pre-order too, you just pay when you pick it up. :)

Cool, think I'll go with pre-ordering from a shop so I know I can pick it up on the day :)

Such a shame, there used to be a little independant place in Lakesside where you could get new releases a day or two early!
Was so excited when I went to pre-order SFIV and came away with the collectors edition two days before it was released!!

Sorry, i digress.....
