just to highlight a few inadequacies with your post
1) I guess you missed the fact that before Cleverley's injury, United where a lot more fluid going forward, without a shadow of doubt (even in big games) he was the central link beween midfield and attack. It Just Worked. After the injury midfield really struggled until Schoes signed
2) There was approximately THREE MONTHS between Cleverley being injured and Scholes re-signing in Jan, incl a couple of Christmas time defeats
3) Goals and Assists are not the only way an attacking player can be a huge affect on a team performance going forward
Just a few of the more notable delusions corrected
Just to correct your lack of reading ability, I've specifically said Cleverley looked very good, for a short number of games and the WHOLE team was playing better. Since then Cleverley hasn't looked nearly as good in a not nearly as good Utd team. As I said, ASSUMING he'd make a big impact based off 6 games, is simply assuming to far. If he was excellent last season for the whole season with Utd in the big games then you could say he was a big miss this year. THe fact is you have no idea how he would have done in the tough games where you've dropped points.
I've said Cleverley looks a real prospect, I've said it all season, but prospect, lots of potential and a handful of performances do not a season relying on him make. Before you rewrite history, the games Utd won easily with Cleverley.... West brom(they were at home, look at their home form, its abysmal), Spurs(late start, utter balls their first two games, good performance though), Bolton(5-0 win, Cleverley played 7 minutes), Aldershot, Everton. Around 383 minutes, just over 4 games, against realistically ONE real side in Spurs, if you want to count the Arsenal C team, go ahead. He looks good, but based off just over 4 games, against no one in form, no one good, no one Utd shouldn't have thumped and pretending you might have won the title if he was fit all year is..... completely ridiculous.
Second, no idea, never said Scholes came in right after Cleverley, never suggested anything like it.
third, yes, there is more to football than goals and assists. Which is why you will rarely if ever see a stat on its own, keep with the same false argument that so many other people like to use. Young IS better than Nani and Valencia. He's been more consistent, scored more goals and gotten more assists over a 5 year period than either of the other two, he's been better this season with more injuries, less time and in a new team.
