New Samsung S23A700D 120Hz

I watched Hubble 3D last night. Wow. Really amazing, you feel you're really there doing the spacewalks with them, the quality of 3D is awesome and that's just using the monitor's side by side and powerdvd 11. I turned all lights off in the room as suggested by pingu, it's much better. Only thing missing was the popcorn. My head felt a lot clearer when using the glasses, only a slight headache feeling. So yeah, now I'm feeling it and this monitor is a great purchase. I have to make sure I turn my TV off in the background, because it reflects in the high gloss screen, and with the 3D glasses on, flickering lines from the glasses shutters are also visible in the TV reflection.

Have you had the glasses on and looked at the TV when it's switched on or even the TV in the screen reflection? Or any bright object? You should see the flickering of the glasses shutters.

Currently I have,

Brightness - 22
contrast - 75
sharpness - 60

Colors are all 50

Gamma is at mode 3

I have set the magic angle to group view.

Would love to see other people's settings. Also would like to know do people us their monitor controls or their video card controls to calibrate?

Been using these settings since you posted them and love it.
Took a bit to get used to the monitor being darker but its a lot easier on the eyes.

Do you game on these settings?
 
I have it set to Brightness 30. I havent touched anything else.
There is a setting for response time.. anyone tested this?

Reduced my brightness to 22 as well. Same settings otherwise except contrast and magic angle.

Brightness; 22
Contrast: 60
Sharpness: 60
Red/Green/Blue: 50
Gamma: Mode 3
Response Time: Faster (I think this is default, I don't recall touching it)
Magic Angle: Standing mode
 
Changing response time to normal was a tip I read about.

Samsung monitors will usually come with their "Response Time" sent to `faster' or `fastest', which usually causes ghosting.

To rectify this, change the following:
-Make sure you are NOT in 3D mode and/or in any 3D application
-Press the Menu key
-Select "PICTURE"
-Select "Response Time"
-Change the option to "Normal"
 
Wow. This monitor is something else. I love it!! Might have to see about buying a 2nd one for my other PC which currently has the LG passive 3D.

I just realised that I don't even need a 3D capable graphics card to use 3D (I have a 4870X2). Just played some BF3 and it's definitely much better. Even in 2D the 120Hz makes it all the better :)

Eventually I will upgrade the GPU, but for now I am pleased with it.

If I can get a 2nd one soon then I can watch my movies in a much better environment :D

Thanks for the tip, I'll try this out.
Absolutley loving this monitor - its a beast! The clarity on games such as Skyrim and Battlefiled 3 is something else. Especially a B3 map, Damavand Peak, which always looked lifeless to me now looks like it should.

Those settings are pretty good :) Yeah I game on those settings too. All I do is lower or raise the brightness in game depending on the game I am playing.
