had what i thought was a good race yesterday and made a few overtakes.
i had 2 off tracks from going slightly wide but nothing that slowed me down and 2 collisions with only one beeing my fault
someone rammed me out in turn 1 but i get penalised....
the second was at turn 1 again and i went into the back of some guy but only just.. i was only doing about 1mph more than him and we both carried on around the corner fine.
i started 10th and finished 5th but lose 2 rating
really disapointing as it was one of the cleanest races ive had so far , ive had far worse and still gained rating.
i guess its time to stop racing , start from the pits and stay out of everyones way......
Certainly in the rookie series it's best to just stay out of the way and get out of there asap
But you say you get 'penalised' for someone ramming you, there's a few things here, firstly is a simple truth that the vast majority of incidents are avoidable, whether that's simply getting out of the way or observing the other car better, but that's just practice. But secondly and probably more important is that you shouldn't think about being penalised because of someone elses idiocy, yes you took a slight hit, but over time if you yourself are a clean driver it really doesn't matter, if you're getting several incidents in every race then it's time to look at point 1 I'm afraid
I love the touring cars josh, its awesome racing..
Silverstone, brands hatch, oulton park and donnington plus a BTCC car were have a proper touring car series in the making here, just hope they scan thruxton or rockingham while there over here...
I proper can't wait for the BTCC car and I like the fact that its FWD aswell...
That other honda will just get lost with the new mp4 and ruf as I'd rather drive either of them than that honda...
I'm gunna do abit more practice running at lrp but it gets tedious after a little while...
Every so often, like this year, I try to start watching the btcc but it just annoys me, mainly because of a few drivers who are quick but have about as much racecraft as the average granny *cough*plato*cough* who insist on just punting others off, that's not racing by any sensible definition, and the fact that they're practically unpunished (see plato at donington race 3, a 2 second penalty iirc?, 2nd to 2nd basically, complete joke.) So yeah, I get annoyed with the whole series and give up just a couple of rounds in...
But I was more thinking about the car, fwd just doesn't make a fun race car for me, now if it was the beemer btcc car I'd be happy to give that a go, but meh
I guess yeah the hsv is similar to several other cars (eg powerful, rwd race car), gonna be good but one of many is never a great selling point
I think I'd rather it over the ruf simply as it isn't quite so crazy...
I'm starting to think it's about time they dropped some cars on a rotating basis, too many similar cars/series imo, hell we have two series now one with the ford gt + corvette, the other with the ford gt + corvette + hpd, that just seems silly... give one series on season and the other the next (eg no hpd for a season) and make it a bit more streamlined maybe?
