680 2gig v 680 4 gig

Now the 4GB 670s are due to be released in the coming weeks the extra £200-£280 (£400 for 4GB 670s each £540 for JetStreams) for those 4GB JetStreams would make me lose sleep as the 670s are really not far off a 680 and that's a huge difference in price.

Lose sleep, plenty of time to sleep when i'm dead!
Only time will tell,as for the price difference thats just how it goes"some you win some you lose". As there's no way of comparing them as the 670 4gb aren't out yet,I just can't see a driver update not being released to make to performance gap wider(I hope) otherwise The Green Team could alienate a lot gamers and wholesalers alike. This is also going to effect the 690 ,that said there will be people who will still buy them,i take it you won't be one of them?

Cool. It's good that you are not rushing and better to take your time. Bring both cards to the same amount of OC and then step up in small increments of 7hz on both cards. run heaven, if pass, go again with 7hz.

Can take awhile but worth it :)

Trying those settings you gave me, still having probs in sli as OC doesn't hold. Out of interest which drivers are you using? mine keep updating to the 301.24 version which on my rig don't perform as good as the original 301.10, thanks in advance.

Heaven score with 301.10 driver 5144 and the 301.24 driver is 2836 as you can see they're causing a huge difference.

Great score for the 301.10 drivers. I am using 301.24 but don't forget I have a single card. If all good on 301.10, stay with those untill the next release and then maybe try the newly released drivers.

It's just a case of findong a stable OC and nothing I know pushes the GPU's like Heaven does. When you can get several passes of Heaven without error. Happy days :)

I got a EVGA 670 4gb SC on preorder for £378 before the prices went up to about £420.

Yes it seems the 670 is performing very close to the 680 at the moment but we'll see how the drivers mature.

In all honesty i do keep thinking about it, I built this rig to play 3D surround which it does quite well I just didn't know enough about the 670 or if they were doing a 4gig version to wait for it. So I chose the Palit over others purely on the 3 coolers and how quiet it runs, even under full load I can't hear the fans rarely going over 65c. Gaming has never been so enjoyable, now the drivers are a different story. I can only get mine to work properly with the 301.10 but can't hold a OC, so thats my only gripe. Hope yours works out well for you, are you a single or multi mon set up?

Hey Scotty,

Here is a image with a 690 running...Your scores are pretty good I would say :)
