iRacing

My fav cars are Lotus Dallara and Williams the Radical is ok aswell.

I tried the Skippy last week and it felt bad to me so something not right with that car i think.

nab some replays or watch some youtube vids to see what the fast guys are doing :)

I just used the paddles tbh, H pattern its too easy to mess up with, iracing is hard enough for me without that :D

I'm interested in I-Racing but have 2 quick questions.

- Does it have auto clutch?
- For the standard $10 a month or whatever it is, does that include everything or have you got to spend anymore on decent cars/tracks

Never seen a cars handling of a car compared to a plank of wood before, really not sure it makes any sense :p

As for a lot of people hating it, well it's still one of the most popular road series (last I saw it was second most popular, just a tiny bit behind the Star Mazda) so god knows what these people that hate it are racing :p

Anyway, I find the radical a fairly smooth and progressive car, far better than the Caddy when I tried it during week 13.

To progress from D to C you just need to run 4 sessions in an eligible series, which means either a D-Class or C-Class series (using the >4.0 SR option), so either in the Radical or Star Mazda as C-Class or some of the base content for D-Class.

Get the rad mate like U i have just got into iracing. Its such a great car and everyone over there is freindly and will help you. The speed will come.

currently got an SR of 368 in class D , what license level do i need to drive the car ? and is it a different class of license than i need to do the official races in the radical , is it class "C" for that ?

isnt it cheaper if you buy 3 items at once ? if so if i buy the radical what other 2 tracks will be usefull for me ( trying to find the championship schedule to see where they are racing at so i can keep on doing TT and races to improve my SR. )

yeah you get discount if you buy 3 items at same time or even bigger discount if you buy 6.

to see the schedule just just press the little series name on the grey bar and select the radical the click schedule...

think ill buy the following atm,, as just after spending £800+ on the pc ..ouch

Radical SR8
Mosport International Raceway
Zandvoort

that will get me the car and the next 2 tracks in the league so i can do TT's and the odd race

that sound like a plan ?

edit ,, i will be able to fast track class D with the radical ? or does it have to be a class D car ?

Just bought it after... after a quick 30 min go around laguna seca in the mx5 i can honestly say this is the hardest racing game ive ever played from first impressions. I can see a few hours practice in store here to master the characteristics of each car. Its so easy to lose control of the bloody car!! I'm going straight into a race see what its all about. If i finish last who cares it good practice at the moment!

Im suprised how well it runs on my system considering i'm running an onboard gfx (gtx670 on the way;))

Thats basically how i did it payed for the rad then the first few tracks form the season. Remeber if u buy 6 items you get 25% off. If your going to do the rad may be better to pick 3 other tracks also.

Oulten park is brilliant, so are Suzuka , Spa and road atlanta are my favourite tracks so far

must say tonight i am starting to get a good feel for my mx5 ,, done 3 fast packed races and 3-4 tt's and only had 1-2 errors ,, i wonder how long my good luck will last for,,lolz
that me done for now :P

Just stick with one car for a while. The first other car you pick you are going to think, it will take you ages to learn all car's but it does become easier.

The biggest difference in my opinion is other games allows you to overdrive and still do well. The first thing with the MX5 is slow down, become smooth and soon you will do better times, and from there on you will become faster again. Don't worry too much about wining races at the start, concentrate on clean driving and avoiding accidents and soon you will see how most people in front of you crash out by over driving. Have some fun!

I've learned the hard way that it's better to follow drivers and wait for them to make the inevitable mistake than try a risky overtake.

Not really, if you're faster than them you just work out where and set your car up to take advantage i.e. getting a better line in or exit to setup the pass in the following turn.

I find if you do this a get alongside someone rarely will they turn in on you, if you're not fully alongside then you should be prepared for the door to be shut!

One of my favorite overtaking moves is around the outside of T1 at Limerock Park.

I'm talking about rookie races. Even if you are faster you need to use caution because a lot of rookie drivers are very unpredictable. That's been my experience of the game AI far anyway.

It does have an "auto clutch" feature.

Regarding content, think of it like a traditional MMO.

You pay per month.

If new expansion packs are released, you purchase them once and get the additional content to play with as long as you wish.

It is better to think of the gametime per £ element though as an extra car/track will give soo much game time, it is silly.

It would be VERY WRONG to think of content as simple "DLC" as that is not right at all.

Ah for Rookie, yes people are less inclined to understand he process of racing line defending etc.

I actually find it quite rewarding pushing someone in to a mistake by squeezing them under braking or showing to much of my nose where they don't want or expect it. :D
