Cycleguard is the insurer I've dealt with as a shop. They seem to be 10% of the bikes value over the year.

When it did go wrong for a customer he had the money paid into our bank within a week which is pretty good going. That was when his chain managed to puncture his carbon downtube.

***** Craft Jerseys - £15 *****

Amazing bargain I've just been made aware of here.

Craft clothing is very good quality; as used by the RadioShack Nissan Trek Pro team. I've ordered one red and one blue. Stupid bargain TBH :)

A few photos from Giro d'Italia, team time trial. Wish I'd packed the SLR! http://www.flickr.com/photos/7600596@N06/sets/72157629730860176/

Wow, that looks great.

In other news, I've been asked if I want to take part in a little event at the beginning of July; A charity cycle ride has fallen through and so the organising company has asked my work's club if they can put together a group of 15-25 people who want to ride Stage 4 of this year's Tdf 4 hours ahead of the actual race........

Stage 4 should be pretty flat. Go for it :)

*Edit*

Thanks for the link.

Anyone have any idea of sizing on them? I'm a 39-40 chest, and normally wear a large in everything, but the sizing chart seems to indicate I may need a medium. Cheers.

Like I haven't already signed up :)

Downside is that we need 15 people and so far only 6 have signed up. Other downside is the price tag; it's into 4 figures.

I'd volunteer, but I've already paid for a week in the Pyrenees during the 2nd week. My wife says no :(

I got soaked up the bum crack today by all the lovely rain and splashback.

Can anyone spec me some mudguards that are simple to put on but work well. Preferably under £30. I have a GT Traffic 1.0 if anyone needs to know.

Cheers

Also, how may times in my life is an opportunity like this going to come up?

Cant you just go and ride the stage yourself?
They only close the roads for a couple of hours for the race but most traffic will avoid it all day, you could ride the route the morning of the stage. If you do a mountain stage you'll even have all the motorhomes along the side of the road and a big crowd cheering you on.
No pressure to keep ahead of the race either, if the caravan comes past you just pull over and watch the race come past, then jump back on your bike and follow them :)

I could do that but I'd probably be on my own, I'd have to organise my own transport, accommodation, food and support and I wouldn't get VIP finish line access or access to the Start Village the following morning.

depends how old you are ;)

Closer to 40 than I am to 30 :)
