The game is very addicting and fun to play. The story however I think failed to really grab me and make me care about what was going on. I was more interested in pew pew pew than understanding about the characters, the world I was in and such. I think the way it shifts you from one area to another very quickly, and the way the story is told is disconnecting as a player.

That and it's very short. I do understand that part of Diablo's appeal is the replayability in difficulties but it feels like it's given them license to make a short game just so you can repeat it.

And then at the end,

there's really no impact on the player or world, it's just 'start again'. What about my character? The other characters? Leah's just gone like that? What's happened to the world? And then a fancy little cutscene which explains and reveals nothing.

Not to mention the characters are completely two-dimensional. Perhaps if I had played D1 and D2, I might care more because of time invested and nostalgia - but I don't think it would validate the facetious nature of the story-telling.

All the enemies are just "I will kill you all" "I will hurt you" "suffering" etc etc

and then nearer the end

Diablo is no different from the other evils, just angry and wants to kill everything. I had hoped for a little more...calculated intelligence rather than just pointless violence.

Don't get me wrong, I'm enjoying playing it for the gameplay and the gearing. But other than that, it's a pretty poor game in terms of story. The graphics are okay, the scenery is very nicely done, though.

Oh and I don't care for completing parts of the game co-op only to leave once reaching the next act and then having to restart in co-op from an earlier act. Possibly a bug.

Does anyone know how to improve this? I am not downloading anything, it's been fine since launch but today it is aweful

Is it worth buying items of the NPC's Armour / Weapons etc or are these bound to be replaced easily from loot thus being a waste of gold ?

That is how the game is you spend all your gold on an item that 1 hour later you find a similar item and you throw away to clear out space for better items. I just try and have the best i can get at any time, by any means.

In d3 i think it might be best to decide if you want to focus on gold or focus on crafting. If you focus on gold you could get a lot of gold and buy some good items from the auction house (when its working). But I am focusing on finding magic items to craft in to items and leveling up my blacksmith.

but i may change focus to gold at some point. where i am now on act 2 the blacksmith does not realy have anything to offer me (all my items are better than i can craft from him) and i am just about to up the blacksmith level to level 2 i think or 3.

I find it annoying that I can't cancel my auctions and relist them, or at least adjust the price of the ones I have up. I have loads of rares that are no good for my guy, just taking up all my backpack space :(

Shall I start salvaging them instead?

what about your stash? can get like a 50 slot stash if you pay like 40k, then another 100k for a new tab. Got my rares in there atm with gems.

put about 8 hours into so far on act 2 starting to like my demon hunter, bola shot with the increase damage radius is so good you can mess up a whole group of mobs in a few seconds :D
