this.

you can never have the map fully explored because next time you start a game it will be a completely new and randomly generated map.

Indeed....I got massivley confused last night on Act 2 in the desert....I got disconnected after getting near the end of 1 section, after re-connecting I was put back to the begginning near the hidden town, after trying to re-trace my steps I found everything had changed and it really threw me off....quite clever.

Well not that much as far as some maps go it's a few left bends instead of right bends and "this hole has a dungeon but this one doesn't" people go overboard when they explain map generation.

I suppose if you didn't realise how it worked, but once you do it's nothing special, it isn't different enough for replayability ( beggining of act 1 seems to be the same as they want the cath in the same place and the old ruins, old tristram... in the same layout. )

Basically there are fixed tiles and random tiles, once you figure it out and remember static ones the mystique is gone :p But that's never the reason that kept me playing 1/2 over and over, it was mostly better loot, harder mobs.

All you people who have got to play this for endless hours every day this week, I hate you. I just haven't had a chance yet to give this a proper rattle and it's really annoying because I'm enjoying it so much.

yeah to be fair I knew the system...I just forgot, so once I ran to the place I was before, I was thinking...."hmmm I swear this is where the exit was."

Its more confusing in the desert as its a big open area.

i literally can't stop playing, had a day to myself on tuesday and i ended up playing from 8am till 0345 and still didn't want to put it down, at work now and i am biting my fingernails waiting to play again, currently got my barb to 34 he's a machine!

Ok the AH is definitely the place to buy gems and looking at the prices for the crafting materials, it seems to be a waste of money to do anything but sell all magical/rares. You can pick up Essence/Tooth for 15-35 each quite easily. So any item worth more than say, 50 gold is almost certainly better being sold.

And the gem prices are bizarre. I guess Ruby is more expensive because of the '%age exp' boost it gives in helms, but I've just picked up a Radiant Topaz for 5k which gave a nice intel boost for my ring.

Work today is hard. With most of Europe out, there is almost nothing going on, but I have a meeting at 4:30 with the states so I can't go home :( Got to just past the Skeleton King last night and itching to play more, I'd forgotten how much fun the Diablo's were.

Really, so you are suggesting selling all blues and yellows and oranges via trader and using the money to buy essences on the AH?

I am struggling to find gems, as I need Topaz for +INT... So yea, might try out what you suggest tonight.

Do you get punished for playing solo?

As in, do things still have the same damage output and health, than it would if there was four of you?

Nope. Mobs scale/descale (for want of a better word) when people join/leave games. I just want to finish it by myself first :).

Ah, that refills my confidence. Want to try the higher difficulties but prefer playing solo.

Just wouldn't want to be doing the impossible by going solo.
