7970 Drivers plus OCing

Don't download from sapphire. Just go direct to amd's website.

12.4's I don't think were too bad, but I have not had a chance to do much gaming in weeks now :(

plus also..... how do i import my old Win Xp STEAM/game files onto my new Win 7 rig

old pc is bust, so i've removed the hard drive tray and i've set it up beside new rig... c and d drive..... i'm going to upload win 7 and then mobo/ card discs..

then i'll attempt to import Steam/ my games onto new rig, is this easy to do ?

To copy the games over just copy the contents of Steam\Steamapps\common over into the same directory on your new drive. If the game saves are not stored on steams cloud server you will need to individually locate where the save game files are stored for each game, most are usually in users\*username*\Documents but it may change from game to game.

the save games are in my documents ..... ``games`` that lot is dead easy to find, it's stuff like Steam ``start up and my Steam i.d/ password``

but i'm most worried about incompatible files/ bugs etc between XP and WIN 7, but i might be ok.... wont know till i try i suppose..... i read online that XP stores files all over the place; so i might have to copy all of C and D drive over...

i defo dont want to loose Borderlands and Serious Sam

Just copy the contents of the common folder over (game install files). Then on the new setup verify each game cache before you try play it, this will download and install any missing/corrupt/incompatible files for you :)

i'm posting this in from my new rig :D:D
bloody hell it's fast and it's not even OC yet..... i only managed to get some of my Steam files from my old rig and what a nightmare too, it took bloody ages for my new rig to recognise the external DVD drive.

even so, Win 7 looks dead easy to use, a simplified version of XP

right, i'm after Crysis Warhead... this is the one game i really wanted to play, but couldn't.... i just wait to see this game on my new rig

it's downloading all my steam games from scratch ... plus signing back into Steam on this new rig was very hard as well ..... it didn't recognise my old steam account so it removed it all, fresh reinstall, i hope it's saved my Borderland games, they're still there in ``saved data``, i was on level 70 !!!

other than this it's going quite well

Save game data should be on your old HDD :)

Also, you do realise if you press shift+2 you get this: " ;)

yea i've found the saved data :D...i love Borderlands, but tomorrow i'm after Crysis warhead... great graphics, i've also downloaded Prime 95

Crysis will be very interesting, because it's the one game i couldn't play, but it looked excellent on my TV.

i dont have access to the 7970 OC menu from the desktop.... in fact nothing..
NVIDIA had performance and N-Tune icons, AMD have sod all, unless i'm missing something.

i also dont have the MOBO OC shortcuts on the desktop either, i can get to it via bios, but i cant see the Sapphire OC stuff there at all, why is all this stuff not on the desk top and where has the Sapphire OC Software gone

i dont have access to the 7970 OC menu from the desktop.... in fact nothing..

Right click on desktop select Catalyst Control Center from the dialogue box, go into performance/AMD Overdrive.

I'd try that before using 3rd party apps like AB and Trixx (sorry Clee)

i cant find any of my OC software and i'm trying to do it via BIOS like last time, i'm damaging Win 7, it's already done two system restores..... i'm getting very worried about this....... i can not find any of it in my program files, i'm getting very stressed out right now
