To summarise the game I feel D3 is D2 with better graphics and improvements.
what didn't you like about d2?
it's short if you rush, taking a decent time to get through normal at an average pace, definitely not short
I didn't rush it at all, I explored 90% of every map. Took me about 2 days to complete it on Normal.
I checked my playtime when I first did it on normal, that's including exploring everywhere, reading everything etc; it took 29 hours, so not short
Both of these quotes are the same for me.
29 hours over 2 days.
The missus is away tonight / tomorrow morning so shall be having a bit of a late session followed by some early morning gaming. Not even made it to the Skelly King yet on normal so am quite looking forward to some extended game time. Beers are chilled in preperation!

I'm exploring everywhere, reading all the lore and talking to everyone about everything.
I'm about 5 hours in and I haven't even reached the end of Act I yet.
Quick tip (that may be obvious to everyone else
) for those who want to see and hear everything: if an NPC has a little asterisk above their head it means they have new conversation topics since the last time you spoke to them.

That was with a good amount of exploration too - did play it all cooperatively mind. I think it's significantly faster playing in a party than it is solo.
I didn't die once in in normal, but came to my second set of elites in nightmare and POW dead, quite a jump, especially when you're in a party.

Gotta love the AH.
Finished Act I on my new DH with a 25dps bow. Start of Act II, headed to the AH, filtered to crossbows w/ Dex (30 min) and Sockets, max buyout 1000. Picked up a 26dps crossbow... then stuck a Radiant Ruby in it that I picked up for 6k, viola, dps on the weapon is now 45.

You can either have a productive weekend or Diablo 3. Not both
Took me and 3 friends 15 hours roughly on normal mode.
That was exploring all dungeons that we found.
Normal mode is a cake walk tho, nightmare ramps it up a lot, and due to the random nature of various events/elites/layout, it keeps it fresh.
