What film did you watch last night?

Underworld: Awakening - 1/5

What a load of garbage. I didn't really expect this to be so bad. The previous films, while not particularly good, at least were somewhat entertaining. Still, Beckinsale was in it, so it wasn't a total waste of 1hr 15mins. :p

Raging Bull. (Blu-Ray)

4/10

I've read so much over the years about this film. Maybe I went in with too high an expectation, but I was completely underwhelmed by the whole thing. The only parts that worked for me were that Robert De Niro succeeded in making La Motta completely unlikeable and some elements of the boxing scenes were pretty impressive.
Really disliked it. Am I the only one? Most likely!

The Raid - 9/10

Amazing and brutal. If you love action then you HAVE TO SEE THIS at the cinema.

It's been a long time since I've seen an action film this good.

I also give Bristol De Lux cinema a big hi-5 for what I think is the best cinema sound system I've heard. The surround setup was spot on and not 'as loud for the sake of it' as many cinemas these days.

I'm the same. Watched it a few years back and didn't like it.

You should watch it if you're seeing Avengers. It's not awful by any stretch.

But its not great by any stretch either. Personally i went and saw it in the cinema when it first came out and i have to say i didnt think very highly of Capt America, in fact i thought it was a waste of time. Thor on the other hand i enjoyed immensely.

Capt America really is the worst out of all the superhero movies that have come out recently. At least they redeemed him somewhat in Avengers but not to the extent i would have hoped.

Animal Kingdom

8/10. Wow where did this come from! Very tense, subtle drama about a 17yr old boy who has to go and live with his extended criminal family. Thoroughly riveting. Aussie crims are scary as hell!

Taxi Driver

Thought it was ok, but not one of Scorsese's best he's made.

6/10

lol just needs a modern soundtrack and special effects :D Coming up 40 years old its a classic but not an entertainment film

I watched Aliens V Predator last night, it was better than I remembered (which probably wasn't hard), although it had some fairly major plot holes/
we already know the Predators can see the embryonic aliens in people - they show as much in the actual film, yet they don't seem to have any precautions to prevent an infected person getting on their ship, even one of their own, who has died fighting the aliens!

'The Inbetweeners'.

I was expecting it to be funnier to be honest. It was far too "lovey dovey" and less on the laughs. A few parts were amusing but nowhere near as funny as a standard episode from the TV series.

6/10.

Paranormal Activity 3

Not bad. Not quite as jumpy as the other two (mainly because you were expecting it) but some parts were quite freaky. Worth a watch if you like that sort of film.

Captain America

I watched the Avengers last week and liked it so am now catching up on the individual films.

I thought that CA spent far too long introducing the characters and then rushed through the action scenes. Not a bad film but not as good as I was expecting.
