Bah, so yea, WD is not that powerful afterall... Shame as I was enjoying it but can't even solo Nightmare regardless of being VERY well geared and lvl 40+.

Going to roll a Monk when the servers come back up. Will benefit my other mates as well.

I understand this. I just think that they should have had an 'offline' option, where you can have an offline character. Obviously you couldn't use it online.

D2 had this, it basically allowed exploits and dupes to be perfected before taking them onto battlenet.

ah right, after you smash the SK it resets your quest log on a guest pass, but you can (from the character screen) just select that final act and replay just the Skeleton King dungeon to progress.

Oooh... good to know, thank you - I'll have a poke whenever Blizzard let us back on :)

I've gone to Monk too, in the end the higher difficulties seem more about preventing death rather than causing it and the Monk's got some great skills/passives for stopping the hurt.

Servers down or is it just me? Logged out to get something from AH and now can't log back in lol T_T

Wish I had gone Wizard instead of Barb... Barb is getting absolutely hammered and I'm only on Nightmare at the moment -_-

Yea, don't get me wrong the WD is so much fun, but in our trio group, in nightmare, I just couldn't give enough to the group to really be of any use, my summons are weak and not scaled up to the difficulty, I am a liability as I have not got hadly any decent defensive skills. It's a great AoE DoT class, but other than that... Nothing much past normal mode.

At least with a monk I can give backup.

They are level 52 now, and started Hell. I have falled behind a lot :( So a lot of work to do over the next few days!

I am on Hell now and I am thinking of rerolling something different. I might return to the Barb later but for now it seems that the Barb is useless in Inferno so dont want to get there and get annoyed about it all.

It's never too late to change class, also as you can max level relatively quick (more so if you can buy decent gear from the AH or blacksmith etc) then you can quite easily rush through on your next playthrough and skip all of the storyline/exploration.

Don't stick with something if you are not happy with it.

Also a word to the wise it seems that ranged is kind in Inferno, I would never have cleared act 1 with a melee class that's for sure.

I play a DH and even though I can kill stuff in Inferno, things can still one shot me and the champion mobs take a massive pounding to kill in Act 2.

I solo'ed WD fine on Nightmare. What skills are you using? Try changing your gear etc if it isn't working. Hell is another matter :).

I play in a 2 with a Monk and we handle most champion packs fine, even on Hell difficulty (which we killed Diablo with).

Currently on Act I Inferno and it's tough :)

Dunno mate, I'm on act 2 hell and the WD minions tank better than the monks and barbs I've been playing with. The control is great as well, you'll need it when you get to hell/inferno trust me, you cant just tank stuff :-).

Thing is, wizard can't run from stuff unlike DH so it's a totally different story.
Dont know about inferno but already in Hell I can't even kite stuff anymore coz its immune and runs way damn too fast / teleports.

DH is probably the strongest class to solo anything due to the massive mobility.

At the risk of feeling the flames, I cant wait for the RMAH to open.

Not planning to go wild but it'll be nice to buy something good for a slot you're lacking in :>

Am I the only one that thinks black smith pages/gems should be a different colour than the normal white drops?

Not only that but I would like my ferrets to pick them up as well as gold.

<3 my ferrets. Though I just got to hell difficulty last night and it looks like I will have to lose them for something more defensive :(

I did Nightmare Act 1 this morning (up to Skele king), and had 0 issues as a barb....

I don't have great gear, and I only stopped to kill anything blue/yellow/purple. Died maybe twice I think, and that was more due to the non-boss stuff around me.

For dealing with mobs so far, good crowd control works well. If you get a good few bits of non-boss stuff you can take out quite easy. I tend to stun, kill off the little things, which tends to generate some health orbs, I then only pick up the health orbs when I need them... and slowly whittle away at the bigger stuff.

Unless you're level 60 that statement is kinda silly.

I keep forgetting how much of a jump it is from Act I to Act II on Normal. 500hp was plenty for Act I but practically everything in Act II hits for 50-100 damage easily. Vitality necessary :p

The QQ is strong in this thread.

Indeed, but on the other hand, having run WoW for the best part of 7 years, you'd think that Blizzard of all devs would have some idea about server infrastructure and the demand D3 was going to put on those servers multiplied by the vast number of pre-orders the game had.

come back when you have gotten to hell - its a different ball game, i cruised through nightmare with my barbarian but dying a lot in hell.. the elites are insanely powerful and difficult to kill

I've been doing co-op today with my housemate. I'm Barbarian, he's a Wizard. We're both level 20 I think and it seems pretty evenly matched currently. He just stands back mostly so takes less damage - but the Barbarian is brutal against mobs. I just jump in and bash stuff.
I've got lots of gear that gives extra health and rage as I kill things plus a few nice area of affect moves. The Leap is vital though - jumping in with 400% Armour Class is awesome :D
