Dont know if its my gear, but playing a demon hunter on heroic mode, i got 1 shotted by a lot of stuff, was playing with a monk yesterday, and their was no killing him, he could just stand their and it was like he they were hardly touching hime! he was same level as me!

Still enjoying the game though!

So can rushing be done similar to on Diablo 2? It seems a bit strange not being able to name your public game or whatever as "Rush me for forge" lol.

I'm starting act 4 on normal but doing it with a mate so i'm waiting for him to come online sometimes.

I wondered if i could try out a new class and rush him through normal or something.

Im fairly sure (not certain) you need to complete all quests in the acts to progress to the next setting, you could rush them though if someone had all the waypoints but i don't think it would be as fast as D2.

Heroic mode? you mean Inferno difficulty setting?

Why does their have to be an active connection to the servers to play offline? Is it purely for DRM or is some gameplay content actually hosted online?

May be a stupid question however I don't understand these things. :p

The only DRM is the product code you have to type in when you install the game.

The problem with having a true offline mode is that it would require locally-stored save/character files and these can easily be hacked, making cheating trivial. That means that if you start out in single-player, offline mode you won't be able to use your existing characters in online mode.

The way Blizzard is doing it now makes sense. You can seamlessly switch between solo and party play because it's all online by default, like a MMO. Right now we're in the only-just-started, squish-server-bugs-as-we-find-them stage. Which is annoying but unavoidable with this kind of infrastructure.

It'll probably be like this for 2-4 weeks and then be much more stable, just like a MMO release.

What do you mean heroic mode?

Anwyay, DH shouldn't really be getting hit by anything, you have a lot of get out of jail free cards.

When I re-rerolled barb I rushed through took me about 6 hours on normal, but I didn't have a clue where I was going most the time and still watched the later cut scenes. :p

Rushing isn't quite as easy, the generally accepted route for rushing is to do the last quest of act 3 (kill azmodan), either ignoring or killing the trash before him and then doing the first part of act 4. You get 3 lots of big quest xp within the space of minutes.

For 56-60 I actually just did the first boss of act 4 on farm on Hell. Averaged about 1 minute 30 to kill, restart the game and repeat and netted about 4% a time at level 59, so 59-60 only actually took about 30-40 minutes.

Monk is sooooo much fun!!!!!!!

I started one last night, got to like level 18, called it quits and went to bed, will finish it today hopefully. But it's to replace my level 40 WD.

My mates agreed a Monk would be much more helpful in our trio later on. So a Monk, DH and a Barb.

I'm loving the monk. Fast, great AOE primary skill. Can be invincible and heal at the same time. And if it all goes to ****? Drop a frikkin bell on them :D

I am really loving my WD now. Just got him to level 30 and even though there have been a couple of hiccups through my own stupidity :p he is now taking down hordes no problem at all.

Was quite enjoying the Wizard I created yesterday on my quick play on the US server while Blizzard were sorting out the EU side of things but didn't get too much time to fully utilise her.

Next build will probably be a Barb once my mate finally installs his copy of the game so will have to see how that pans out, can see it going the way of the pear though.

Oh, and was great playing with a few of the guys off here, not a bad team with Wizard/Barb/Monk/DH :)

When you swap to a new char, do you have to start on normal again?

Or can you just buy some gear and jump straight into nightmare? Or higher and get boosted by other people?

Start on Normal, its a new char...

Only things that carry accross all and any chars you have is your stash, gold, blacksmith and jewel craft skills.

was good fun managing to accidentally end up with 4 different classes. Really didn't enjoy demon hunter, will be trying out WD next time servers go down (as I was actually planning)

Yeah you would have to start on Nomal...they would only be lvl 1 for a start and get owned!

Hence why I mentioned getting boosted :p

I thought the XP would make you fly through the early levels.

you can only jump into a game on a difficulty you have already unlocked on that character. so technically as long as you have beaten it on normal you could jump straight into act 4 on nightmare if you plan on getting boosted.

I do feel crafting is a little pointless at the moment. Maybe it'll change when we get to level 60-ish but the amount of cheap items on the AH just makes using the blacksmith more expensive unless you're lucky enough to get exactly the item you want first time.

Also salvaging seems to be pointless, the ingredients are so cheap on the AH you might as well just sell everything.

Sold my only legendary item for 60k last night :)
