I was just wondering roughly what DPS I should be doing with my level 25 Monk?? I've got two 30ish DPS fist weapons and my "Damage" figure on my inventory screen says around 170 - is this about right?

I'm reading a lot about some later level builds doing 1k+ damage and I seem an awful long way from this!

Don't get me wrong, I'm still in normal and not struggling to batter anything but just wanted to make sure I wasn't doing something monumentally wrong early doors!

Well I was doing about 600 dps with my monk at that point but mine was slightly twinked (rare socketed fists with radiant rubys in them)

I'm level 34 and have just over 900 dps!!!

I dual weild, you really want to bump up dexterity, to the max, I have twinked my monk, so don't expect to get as high. But yea, your main stats you want right now are in this order:

Dexterity
Attack speed

Then the usuals:

Vitality
Strength

Sharpshooter gradually raises my crit chance to 100% for my next hit. Works amazingly well with abilities that proc on a crit. The mines have crit groups of mobs for 25k-30k each, so nice.

Any chance you could show me what items you are using.

Trying to remember what my dps was before I logged off last night, think it was about 2.8k dps, so mile away from your dps.

Sounds about right to me. At mid 20's I was doing about 150-200 dps with my Barb. I'm Lv30 now and I'm doing about 333dps.

Only just got to Act IV last night on Normal mode. And I only use stuff I've actually found, not touched the Auction House etc.

This might sound totally stupid but by "bump up dexterity" do you mean with bonuses on armour etc? It's just I've not seen anything where I can allocate points to dex, str, etc at each level up so I assumed it was done automatically - or have I missed a massive trick here??? :confused:

Pretty much all equippable items can have a +dex, like my main chest armour is +107 dexterity right now, my weapons each have +79/78 dex with 11% increased attack speed.

Yes, your attributes go up with each level, but you NEED to upgrade your armor. Save money, go to the AH and search for items with dexterity, set max buyout at 5k, and you can pick up some amazing bargains :D

Not to mention, but when you start getting items with gem slots, you can place +dex gems, making your char even more insane :D

It is automatically done, but you can get gear that adds to it, basically you want all your gear to have primarily +DEX but also +VIT and attack speed.

it is Nephalem Valor giving him the good drops. Think it's something like 25% MF and can be stacked five times.

They should have made it good drops the first time you kill a boss per difficulty though. Bosses are too much of an anticlimax on Nightmare. :(

Spend ages killing hard boss for first time

well re the hacking thing no one knows for sure what's gone on. very little official word (the link posted is the only acknowledgement) and there are rumours of session hacking whilst in the game (people actually logged in and playing being kicked out), friends list shenanigans (random people appearing in the list which coincides with being hacked), people with authenticators being hacked - all sorts. something strange is going on.

i was hacked, contacted support they attemtped to roll back but there is some kind of problem with it, meaning they can't do it and they have no word of when it will be sorted. they even seem to be suggesting that i am still hacked, even though i have checked system more than once, now have an authenicator and changed emails and passwords again.

so the long and short is i have lvl 35 naked monk who can barely kill anything in act 1 normal and no gold to buy any gear.

Wait, it isn't like that? Well that sucks :( Going to be finishing Act IV tonight and was looking forward to getting some fresh phat lewtz from the nightmare bosses on the next playthrough :( bah!
 
downed skeleton king with the wizard now as well...found that run through the hardest yet, but the FPS stuttering seems to have gotten worse :(

First run though i had none what so ever, dont think ill be splashing out on the full game until a patch has come out because playing a character like the wizard where you need to be able to move around to not get hit with severe FPS problems is just not fun :(
 
Logged in this morning, all gold gone, all crafting stuff gone, good times.

Apparently its been happening to quite a few people.

How are you getting on? :)

One of the things I like best about Diablo III is just how easy it is to pick up and play even if you're a complete novice. It walks you through the basics and then gradually increases the difficulty, giving you plenty of time to work out what you're doing without overwhelming you with new information.

Jesus, have you done any of the following:

Joined random public games
Allowed random people to join your public game
Logged in and contributed (posted) on the blizzard forums
