They must be concerned about this, but I can see why people are hacking. With the real money auctions coming soon I would imagine this could be a nice little earner.

Does make me wonder if I'll get home tonight to a hacked account, can't say i'd be too upset though, think I only have about 1k gold on my Monk and my rares are pants!

RNG is mmo speak (at least the first time I heard it used in such a way) for Random Number Generator, but in the sense that "Argh, I got killed by RNG :/" would mean you were very unlucky with random events/procs/boss abilities -- e.g. a boss using a hard hitting, normally avoidable ability immediately after you were stunned.

I've been breaking down all items that aren't worth selling on the AH (and since I've had nothing particularly good, pretty much everything has been DE'd), so if anyone needs Subtle Essences or Teeth let me know - I've got like 600 Essences and about 200 or so Teeth.

normal salvaging materials are about 10g a piece on the AH, might as well sell everything to vendors

Are people getting hacked with authenticator?

Asked the same question and was told some one's friend got hacked and he had an authenticator, yet hard to beleive in my opinion.

To bypass the authenticator request when on a diff PC one has to either fake my PC name or IP?

Corect me if I am wrong.

Also if it is so easy to hack D3 then wow would be robed blind as it uses same authentication no?

blizzard say no, people say yes.

every post I've seen about someone saying they've been hacked with authenticator on their account, blizz have said they added it after being hacked.

Blizzard aint gonna come out and say the Authenticator does nothing. They're just giving damage control answers, but everyone knows they don't stop this hack method.

All of the people i know on Bnet from my WoW days have got a authenticator and none of them have been hacked, only friends who don't have one have been hacked. Kinda see a small pattern there :p

Get a authenticator people!

well, i didn't have an authenticator and got hacked, now I do. there is a problem with the roll back on my account for some reason, the implication in the reply from support is that there is still some security issue with my account. which is concerning now i have an authenticator.

plus as a poster above said, it could be a hacking method that bypasses the authenticator. no one knows which is the problem.

edit: re the above "get an authenticator" that's all well and good if it was properly explained when you make the account. make it in big massive letters if you have to but make people get one. i have no other blizzard games, i have no reason to have a blizzard account. i have no reference points from WoW, i think it is perfectly reasonable to expect not be hacked within 1 week of buying the game.

Where'd i get the authenticator from and is it easy and quick to setup?

This really is ridiculous though - there's absolutely no way people should be getting hacked through no fault of their own. Terrible Blizzard.

Two places really, free download to a smart phone, or at the blizz store, couple of quid but posting/packaging is the biggest expense.

I would recommend the physical authenticator as on the phone it can get lost wiped or something

Easy as chips to set up

Logged in this morning, all gold gone, all crafting stuff gone, good times.

Apparently its been happening to quite a few people.

Mentioned this happening yesterday but it was met with a "nothing wrong with Blizzard security".
I don't buy it, there is something wrong somewhere and Blizzard will deny it until it becomes an issue for everyone.

Why did this game have to have a real money auction house?
Plenty of affected people also have authenticator and text alerts on.

log in to your account and i think it's in the security settings, you can download it for iphone or android and it's free.
