Definitely recommend liquid chalk, barely makes any mess and it does help out a lot with grip. I've been working on my grip technique and was doing 140kg with a double overhand, which is a very positive development.

"kind regards,

David"

Pleasant sentiment but since a forum thread is an active and continuing conversation rather than a letter, signing off like that seems a bit incongruous and unnecessary. Still, +1 for manners I guess.

Dear David,

I am most glad that you took Mr. Skull's feedback to your posting style in a positive manner.

I hope I get to enjoy further correspondance from you both.

Thank you most sincerely,

Wills

Dear Reader,

Further to our previous correspondence i would like to interject that i am in favour of a 'hardcore' training mentality, one might consider 'balls out' an appropriate descriptive moniker to attribute to this mindset. Ergo may we continue to exchange advice and support therein, without necessitating the use of such excessive formalities in posting style, that each post may take several hours to compile and commit to text, in order that i might simply tell Delvis that he is inadequate.

Yours sincerely
UEX

I've been told that college isn't on tonight. I would go to the Gym if I bought my bagwith me! Never mind!

Wednesday will be a big day. If my chalk arrives, it will be a leg or back day, otherwise, chest day.

Body weight exercises ahoy. Get on those inverted push ups, pistol squats, planks etc. :p

Yeah I've got a few options - it's just not great. More conditioning / HIIT work for a few days. Still annoying though. Will hit mobility hard - I've brought my foam roller with me! :D

Time to get creative FF :) I've been in many a hotel with really dodgy looking multigyms.
It doesn't even have a multigym - literally an adjustable bench, and treadmill, rowing machine and bike, and a few DBs.

I'll be able to do something - just nothing that'll be overly taxing to me. However it's better than doing nothing at all. I'll be eating less this week as a result though.

Bulgarian Split Squats :p

those at 20Kg should be pretty good for a few sets. Especially if you do a slow negative

Oh I have a whole list of exercises, but BSS will be a bit light, I guess I'll have to do more isometric based exercises.

It's just not ideal!

I assume it's a work thing? If so next time go all Diva on their asses and demand a hotel with a gym!

Press the entire DB rack like a boss. Whilst on the treadmill. Balanced on top of the bench. At an incline.

Eurotraining.

I think you could get away with this FF ;)

The conference is taking part here so haven't got a choice.

:D :D

I found a DL - ok it's a 50 mile round trip, but one of the guys here is a gym rat too so it's all worked out well!

Time for steak!

I have 2 tubs of weight gainer shake that went out of date March and April. I'm guessing they should be fine? They still smell/look the same.

I wouldn't worry about it unduly, I think my whey protein technically became out of date some time around the middle of last year. Obviously if it smells or tastes odd then reject it but otherwise I wouldn't be too bothered.

I need to move gyms before I get filled in! I just can't handle all the idiotic things I see anymore and sooner rather than later I will have to tell someone what I think.

In the gym yesterday and as usual it's an orgy of ***** doing mongy things but this particular group bake my noodle. There's 4 of them not that impressive size but they're low %bf and with their wife beaters on, pumped up they really think they're the kiddys. They're on the adjustable benches doing chest *again* and you simply cannot move, the whole DB rack is completely empty and every single DB is on the floor. These idiots are doing sets and all insist on throwing their DB's to the floor after each set (even though there's 4 of them all spotting each other)

Anyway I stumble over, tripping over DB's and ask if I can use one of the 4 benches. As soon as I sit a 35kg DB is launched by idiot #1 after a few poor reps, missing my foot by less than a foot! So I just give the look to let him know I'm not impressed.... I pick up the 25's to warm up on Incline... then I hear a "Grab the 52's" (there are no 50's because they're broken due to retards keep throwing them about)

Now this annoys a little, as I was planning to use them but I'm interested to see this. So he lie's back on the flat bench with one 52kg DB wobbling all over the place as his mate struggles to pass the other. He lowers the weight and then not much happens (apart from lots of grunting)... his partner does the usual as he pushes his elbows in and up for him... 1... same again.... 2... then much more wobbling and shaking... half a rep as his spotting partner tires and can't help out and the DB's are just dropped and bouncing all over the place with an almighty crash.

"whoop" "Beast" "ooh he really meant that" are a few retarded comments I recall :o Yet the most telling comment was from him "I've been stuck on them ******* for months" It took every ounce of willpower to stop me saying "no your training partner has, he's not strong enough to lift them for you" :)

So I get up and pick up every single DB around my bench and put them very quietly in the DB racks, including theirs, pick up the 47.5's (no 50's you see) lie back on the Incline, set myself up and rep out 10 smooth reps in silence. I then sit up and put the DB's back in the rack... no drama

They cleared off to the BB benches without another single set being done. I would like to think that was partly down to them feeling a little bit stupid :)

CW I feel your pain man. I also like to show the kids how it's done and do a no fuss set and put the weights back in a silky smooth move.
