lvl 55
dps 4k
health 25k

Just finding it really hard to deal with mobs atm.

DPS seems at least 4-5k under what it should be for that level. Gear is probably your issue, but out of interest what build are you going for?

Noticed that as well, I think it works a bit different. Even with 2-3 stacks u already drop lot of items but with MF gear not so much.

Maybe there is a hidden bonus ;-)

If you have any stacks of the buff when you kill a boss you get bonus loot.

I dunno really. First time I've played a game like this so I'm learning as I go along.

The best build atm for Wizards is the 0 vitality / force armour. You can only really die to really douchey things like being vortex'd into a fire chain or something, other than that you can just kite indefinitely without any worry.

Can you elaborate? :)

The force armour rune for energy armour makes it so you can only ever be hit for 35% of your max health. So the lower your HP the smaller the hit you take, but that's not really what is important. Where it becomes mental is when you begin stacking life regen / life steal.

At 60 without any vitality on your gear you have 4.7k hp so you can only be hit for about 1.6k dmg. If you can get your HP to tick around that per second then you're now one tough mofo. It isn't easy, I've been building towards this for a few days now and I have my 0 vitality, and 1.1k life regen and 400 life steal, I have to say around 1k life regen is when it really started to feel good to use.

This then couples extremely well with diamond skin using the crystal shell rune. This gives you a 20k absorb, which takes into account you only taking 1.6k hits, letting you take insane amounts of damage before that breaks.

From there the rest of your skill / passives is your call really. I use the rest for damage and rely purely on diamond skin in tight situations, with this build simply kiting for a mere 2-3 seconds will see you back on full hp and ready to blast again. Galvanize armour is obviously a great passive for the life regen.

When building towards this, if you're not quite at the 0 vitality I would recommend instead dropping diamond skin for mirror image + duplicates, mixed with illusionist passive. Your HP pool will be too big for life regen to matter, so those images tanking will be much better and can be summoned any time you get hit.

Here is my exact build, I tried to balance AoE / Single target the best I could for keeping the Nephalim Valor buff stacks for bosses:

I just got hit by this! wanted to log on for an hour this morning before work and its offline! my 10 auction items expire today I wanted to put 10 more up and get a little gameplay in! :o

For all you demon hunters out there, watch out coz SS just got nerfed. It only lasts a fraction of its previous duration. Confirmed in game this morning.

Haha! That's the old '55HP InviciMonk' build from Guild Wars that everyone used to farm the Underworld Elite area :D

Low HP, Damage Reduction based on HP, with lots of health regen.

Who'd have thought it would resurface in Diablo ^_^

Yeah, lots of '55Wizards' out there at the minute. I would imagine there will be some form of nerf incoming for that in the next while.

I am slightly worried that they're nerfing all the best builds...

It is like, 'oh someone found a way to do well in the game, let's destroy it'....

Next they'll be nerfing barbs frenzy...

It needs nerfing.

Or rather, other builds need empowering in line with it, but its easier to nerf..

Well yeah, to be fair the Wizard bit does need nerfing, as does the, it it monk? invulnerability? I feel like anything that makes you invulnerable shouldn't be allowed...

I don't want them to nerf barb's frenzy though, it's just about the only thing that seems to work for barbs.... It also doesn't stop you dying, it just helps you deal damage, which makes sense.

See I think they need to be improving some skills instead of nerfing others. By the time you get to Hell/Inferno about 80% of the skills seem to be useless and every character has one or two (or more) MUST have skills which I thought was what they didn't want! The monk's heal skill for example is rubbish as it doesn't scale enough with your character levelling.
