Smolov seems popular for increasing bench press. Never really looked into it, I just bench like a boss and that seems to work

I really need to get rid of this cheap argos bench. It was ok for when I started, but now the weight is heavier, I think im reaching the limits of it.

I presuming you need a bench with bench attachment? So you can bench press?
Some guys are happy doing curls under the gym spot lights while looking in the mirror, feeling boss then talking to girls who are doing some glute raises in full make up....

No, although I did at the time, before I got my squat rack (which has adjustable height). I might just look at Powerhouse fitness and see what they got in.

I think it's this. Yes, some people principally enjoy the social aspect, but I bet they'd prefer to be gaining aesthetics or strength as well.I'd be damned surprised if anyone went, hammered the free weights, and didn't want to add muscle. Its much more likely to be a lack of understanding that stops them from building muscle, and a lack of approachability which hinders them from ever being taught.
That looks like a recipe for some serious suffering! Those consecutive high rep days might take their toll.Going to setup my Wendler/Smolov routine for this next month. Starting with bench because it's suffered of late and if I don't push 140 this year I'll cry
Sunday - Squats / Smolov Day 3
Tuesday - Smolov day 4 (max day, replaces wendler bench)
Thursday - Deadlifts / Smolov day 1
Saturday - Press / Smolov day 2
Starting it this Thursday so it'll be a little out of sync with 531 which should help me not die during the later stages.
Current 1RM is 110, 10kg lower than it was in November. Squat and Deadlift numbers are steadily improving and my clean+jerk (although I haven't went for a 1rm) is feeling smooth and fast at decent weights. Leaving any significant snatch work out for the time being.
Using carb cycling with 1 cheat per 2 weeks to allow for some "lean gains"
