Apparently the author didn't know of Battle Royale, when she wrote the books. Easy to say that I suppose, but on the hand, people can create very similar works, or a design of something without being aware of what the other is doing.

Battle Royale said:In the future, the Japanese government captures a class of ninth-grade students and forces them to kill each other under the revolutionary "Battle Royale" act.
Hunger Games said:Set in a future where the Capitol selects a boy and girl from the twelve districts to fight to the death on live television.
Yes, really. I don't like the film. I will not deny there were good bits in it but overall it was too long and the gun battle after the bank job was way OTT, I know they got Andy McNabb in there to advise but the police shooting off that many rounds into a busy road was ludicrous. Also the way the nice bookshop assistant sticks with De Niro (after only a few days knowing him) after she pretty much finds out he is a serial criminal was poor.
Not a fan. Sorry Vonhelmet.
I watched John Carter.
It wasn't exactly a masterpiece, but it was okay. I don't think it deserved the complete drubbing it got from the media. Sure the basic plot was stupid, the dialogue was simple, and the characters were all idealised cliches of some form or another. But isn't that par for the course with superhero type movies?
I thought it was entertaining enough so long as you don't try to think too hard about it. Certainly no worse than tripe like Clash of the Titans.
not really a movie but i started watching walking dead. quite impressed. will be watching more when i get time.
C&B story is a weird one. but well worth watching![]()
