So when do we start to see the tier gear? i heard all about 16 sets of tier gear... anyone with any info?

The tiers changed based your level and act. It's not the same as MMO tier gear.

i.e. Level 1 is tier 1, level 10 is tier 2, etc - not that specific scale, but that's the idea.

Blacksmithing isn't worth it end game, for testing sake I farmed a bunch of blues in Act 2, 60% - 70% of them gave Hell level mats, and it costs 50k~ to make 1 item which is totally random. Spent 300k, not including the money I would have made vendoring the blues, to make some stuff. Ended up with junk, so over 300k wasted... although it was a test, so not really wasted, but in regularly circumstances it would have been.

I think I just got the deal of the century....

Ended up wasting about 65k yesterday on levelling the blacksmith and trying to make some useful items. It's frustrating how neither the blacksmith or gem guy seem worth dealing with due to the prices on the auction house being quite good and the level of items seeming to be badly scaled.

Someone suggested it's better for your second char. Will the blacksmith keep the level from your main char on the second?

I've managed to get a few good drops though. Had a nice polearm for my Barbarian before the weekend. Matched my level, was similar to what the best I could have used from the marketplace was too. STR/VIT bonuses, attack speed bonus, crit chance and leach life. I've also had a nice cloak drop which I sold - put it up on market for 25k and it sold in no time. Should have put it up for more :p

Would be nice if you could specify some stats when making items with the blacksmith...

Is the AH still laggy this morning? I haven't tried anything yet but seems some sold items still haven't cleared off listings.

I've been playing for the last hour and it has been fine but suddenly just went to buy a new gem and it's laggy as hell! taking a few mins at a time to update purchases or to send things to my stash!!

Yeah, Artisan levels carry through all characters. So if you get him to 10 once, he'll be at 10 on all characters.

I still think the BS will be the answer to getting that 'perfect' item. Yes it will cost a lot, and you'll get a lot of failed attempts, but you're gambling on one particular item, rather than with drops, you have to find a rare mob, get a rare drop, and then get the perfect item...

Unfortunately I've found most items aren't worth more than about 50-100k, until you get to the L60 stuff...

It's pretty nice, especially so for a monk who is stacking poison resist.

Attack speed is the real dealbreaker on rings though.

If you want inferno mats just salvage lvl 60 gear, most stuff under 60 will give you hell mats.

Useful to know then - don't regret it quite as much now :)

Not really in need of the cash currently, whilst I can buy better stuff than I'm using I'll have grown out of it in no time. I spent a fair chunk on a ring and a amulet yesterday - but it was % bonuses which scale better than a lot of the other stuff.

Will keep cash to the side for now until I start struggling again and keep an eye out for the ability to use some resist all items - think that'll be the next thing I'll be wanting on my Barb. That and more % damage done to health bonuses :D

Don't focus on lifesteal (% of damage done to life) if you're wanting to progress in inferno. The effectiveness of that effect is reduced by 80% in inferno difficulty. Life on hit is where it is at for Barbs along with the usual defensive stats (resists, armor, reduced damage from elites)

Any inferno barbs using string of ears belt. Kinda tempted to get one although it would mean dropping some strength, vitality and resist the potential +15% reduction to melee just seems so nice especially in act 3. Also want a good stormshield but I'm still saving for a decent one with at least 24% block on.

Oh, does D3 have any proper dual screen support? Or is it only single screen/

I'm sure it does, there is a video on youtube with someone playing it across 6 screens, and i gotta say it's pretty epic and you can see so much more it's an advantage to say the least :p

I dunno what crafting is like in Inferno when you hit lvl60 and start using plans, but it just seems totally useless before that point just because of the costs involved.

How many people on an alt char have decided to not bother checking the AH and crafted something 5 times at there level and every single 1 of them has the wrong primary stat or none at all? When you could've picked up any random item on the AH for 1/4 of the cost. And thats just low level. Once you start crafting 30+ or 50+ items you can pick stuff up on the AH for 1% of the cost.

Seriously my Blacksmith is now lvl7, started on upgrading him with Tomes and he STILL only has a level 4 Crossbow available.

That chest armour will be worth a bit. Can't quite say how much, but 1000k+ pretty easily I'd say.

The other two might suffer because they have no Res All. But the Phys res on that shield should give it a good value too, especially considering it's armour value.

No idea about the wiz helm, don't keep an eye on that stuff.

Best bet is to look for similar stat stuff to be honest...

Argh! I just saw some awesome bracers at least four or five times better than my current ones for 7500 but as i went to buy it i timed out. :(

Comparable bracers are worth 70k+.

If you see something that low priced that might even whiff of a bargain, just press buyout. If you make the wrong call, its only 7.5k you lose out on.

Don't hesistate.. Profit-ate. XD
