Well I hit level 60 with my DH on friday, I entered Inferno with about 21k hp and 9k DPS (before adding SS) Really disappointing with how the game plays now. All this talk of multiple builds is pretty much BS. Smoke Screen is must as most stuff can pretty much one shot me. Total snore fest and very frustrating dying multiple times on elites.

The style of play they allowed in all the other modes is no longer viable in inferno. So at the moment I can struggle through Inferno on my own which zaps any fun out of it for me. Or go back to hell act IV and farm for gold to buy better stuff on the AH and still know that in the end, I could be one shot killed at any moment.

Is this really how blizzard wanted the game to be played?

So I have started a new char(Monk) Having loads of fun tearing through Normal, sitting on Act 3 just after killing The Lord of Gluttony. Waiting on my girlfriend to get her Wizard to level 60, so we can tackle inferno together. Not really looking forward to it though.

They stated on the design update here that they didn't want certain skills to be required to play Inferno (ie, Smoke Screen) and they wanted to do something about the 'spikey' damage. I really don't know how they can pull it off though.

Just doing Act I Hell. Came across some silly Bison boss with Health Link (never seen it before then it gets mentioned here and I find it ) and Waller. It essentially killed itself. Its main attack is to charge into you and own the hell out of you but the walls kept getting in its way and Caltrops/Spike Trap just massacred them.
Then I came across (in the Scavenger Den), a Shield, Jailer, Reflect Damage elite that I don't have a prayer of killing. I can't avoid damage because they're too fast and can jail me at any moment. Shield blocks all attempts at crowd control and even when I can do damage I wind up hurting myself even more.

It's multi use but you need to upgrade it for each difficulty.

Merch in act 4 next to the companions sells the upgrade plans.

Cool, thats good to know then. What sort of things are we talking about to upgrade it? More rare, account bound items + gold?

Upgrades are just gold.

Nightmare was 200k, Hell was 500k iirc, I think Inferno is 1kk (I only just started Inferno, so don't have access to the vendor yet).

There's a bug where you can get the plans for 1 gold each.

Do you need to pay to upgrade them at the blacksmith?

Anyone else read THIS and think it was utter BS?

They completely missed the issue with the jeweler/blacksmith it has nothing to do with how many gems it takes to upgrade, but the cost of gold...makes me wonder if they actually read what people are upset about, instead of the cry babys who want to nerf the game to a state of it being no fun at all.

also the point about them wanting us to try new builds, and instead of going for high armour/resists instead for high damage and finding ways to keep out of harm...

that's great and all because that's how i roll my DH but when they NERF things it's kinda impossible to do as they would like us to do, bunch of hypocrites.

Blizzard seem to not have a clue, and that's fine the game is only a few weeks old and hopefully we don't see anymore nerfs (tweaks are fine, but to nerf a skill and destroy it so no one uses it is not) or stupid ideas like this gem combiner one 2 instead of 3 oh wow...that will save me some coins as that is what the issue is...i'm glad they are listening to the real problems and not the kids in the forums wanting t kill each others builds

oh wait....

Urgh, yeah I'm starting to see some of the even more stupid attributes now. Just came across my first Invulnerable Minions elite. Luckily they were Skeletons so fairly slow... until I took the boss down to 10k and got walled and cornered by the minions. The fact they're invulnerable I can deal with. The fact that crowd control effects simply do not work (on top of the fact they trigger my Spike Traps prematurely and I think they distract Sentries/Companions) is just stupid.

I'm starting to see that its idiotic things like that that made Smoke Screen required for Demon Hunters. I've loved using a combination of Caltrops, Spike Trap and Sentry Gun with my Frost Arrow and Multishot and it works. Right up until you find that 1 elite/champion with Shield or Invulnerable Minions that renders all attempts at crowd control useless and makes it so the only way to avoid death is to use a skill that prevents enemies detecting you.

Bought this game last night. It's pretty fun, it's a great game to play inbetween sc2 ladder when you feel your blood pressure rising :D

Got Act 3 Inferno on farm \o/ but yet to kill Dan, although haven't tried him yet.

Still extremely easy to die as a Wizard, using Force Armor but regular hits from normal mobs without it on one shot me even with 55k HP, 400 all resist and 4k armor. I basically have to skip any pack that has invulnerable minions, it's just not possible. Also sometimes have to skip Vortex, depends on the mob and their other abilities.. such as those Vortex, Molten, Fire Chains, Fast = insta skip, won't even try it.

Now just trying to get a better 1 hander, current is 740 DPS but it's not really enough.

Where abouts in Act 3 are you farming/is the best place to farm? I got there last night, did the signal fires bit and I've stopped as I want to get an equally powerful bow (~910dps) so I've put up my Crossbow (which was simply bought as an upgrade and test to see what they are like) - so waiting on that to sell.

Has anybody of experienced an issue with Diablo III yet where your display will turn off and back on again? Almost as if somebody disconnects your cable then connects it again. This has happened once or twice since I bought the game, it wasn't bothering me so I left it. On a 3 hour session last night though it happened 9 times so it got me a little worried, this doesn't happen on other games just Diablo III. To my surprise after searching this on google there are a lot of people getting the same problem, some say it's a GPU overheating issue some day it's a power supply issue.

Have any of you experienced anything like this yet?

Demons messing with your cable TBH

Blizzard have made this game with 1 thing in mind - Make as much profit from the AH as possible.

70 hours played, not one ledgendary and proberbly wearing 2 items that I havent bought from AH.

Starting to get bored.

For those looking for retail stock (myself included), Amazon has just updated the page for Diablo 3 stating they will be getting stock again on June 11th. This ties up with the previously mentioned 2 week wait from Tesco.
I guess I'll be paying £45 tonight if I don't want to wait 2 weeks :(

I've ordered it from Amazon I'm betting it will come in sooner than that, they are just saying that long to cover themselves. But even if they dont I can wait, I'm not paying 45 quid for it.

Have to agree with this.

Feel for the people who are adamant they're not going to the use the AH and rely on drops.

Probably doing Butcher runs on normal as we speak...

SC2 must be really stressful if you're finding D3 helps! :P

After reading a lot of comments, am I the only oen really enjoying the game, just for what it is? Am on ACTIII and loving the setting/dungeons/mobs, really good fun and thoroughly looking forward to finishing the game.

As for the harder modes, I sincerely they are a complete pain, am after a real challenge :D

I'm relying on drops, only up to butcher on NM at the moment, but I'm yet to feel underpowered. I'm sure by the time I get to inferno I will be getting frustrated at the grind, but that's just diablo in my mind.

Amusingly, the best loot I've got was from some random corpse in the corner of the map, followed by my rare amulet that dropped from a destructible on A3
