Noted the GSMArena quoted press release talks about...

"Samsung’s Galaxy SIII Pebble Blue version comes with a newly invented blue colour and special hyper-glaze material"

.....ooh, newly invented and hyper-glaze - some serious marketing meetings to come up with these....

If this was the case then the white version would be affected as well since they use the same CAD files but different coloured materials for the models. Common sense tells you that this is incorrect.
 
With the apparent botch up with front and back covers I still can't believe no one at Samsung QC picked up on the defects prior to thousands of S3's being sent out to retailers only for the defective units to be sent back.

Not a good start to the launch of the S3 but hopefully Samsung can get things back on track fairly soon.

@Dangerous CPW always charge the account holder as soon as the preorder is made as do other companies. The only places I know for sure who don't are Rainforest and Play who don't charge until the item has been shipped.
 
Well just called P4U there and the lovelly sounding girl I spoke to checked my notes from the last time I spoke to them and still couldn't give me any confirmed info about my order being shipped or whether I have one allocated.

She did say she thinks they are getting some stock tomorrow and would call me before 12pm tomorrow with an update.

Getting really annoyed with the lack of info coming from the providers about this.
 
Just got this from Play :

We have been notified by Samsung that they have delayed the release of this product until at least 13th June 2012. Your outstanding order will remain on your account and once stock is received your order will be processed and dispatched.

However, this phone is also available to purchase in Marble White and we are expecting to receive stock of this model on 31st May 2012. If you would prefer to transfer your outstanding order to the White model then please send an email to [email protected] containing your name and Order ID. We will then arrange for your order to be amended within the next 24 hours. If you wish to keep your order for the Pebble Blue model then you do not need to take any further action.

...if only they'd just released it in black first with a blue version for the crowds to horde over later...

...that or just had some people ACTUALLY LOOKING AT THE PHONES COMING OFF THE PRODUCTION LINE!!! wowzers Samsung, way to balls up there!
