Girlfriend is considering a 206 CC, opinions?

Hi guys,

As title really. She wants a convertible around 3kish, I have suggested MX5 but she is not keen on them but has't driven any of them yet!
 
Don't do it.

My ex's used to go through more bulbs than a bulb shop in bulb town after a powersurge.

Her's had the 2L, was a bit nippy...but pretty **** on fuel, ride was ****, the interior was **** (and this is coming from me), constantly had faults showing up on the HUD. Oh also it had a lot of trouble keeping any real grip on the road when the time came to it...christ knows why.

Part from that, was alright I spose :p
 
Absolutely, totally, 100% awful. You must do everything in your power to prevent her buying one because it will become the bane of your life. She probably doesn't care about the fact its built like a fisher price toy and has horrible nasty plastics, but she WILL care about the fact it's about as reliable as a really unreliable thing built on a Friday from the planet unreliable. They break all the time and basically suck.
 
The 206 is one of the worst cars I've ever driven. Absolutely diabolical. But women seem to love them for some reason.
 
A friend of mine had the 2.0 version a few years back. Rear space? forget it. I'm probably one of the smallest people on Motors, and even I couldn't fit in the back properly. You couldn't sit ony our legs, so had to have them across the back of the car.

Was, ok.... but like you've said, try and get her into an MX5

You need to do more than "suggest" then! £3k will get her an early Mk2.5 Sport or late Mk2 S, stretch it another £200-£300 and you're spoilt for choice, the market is full of them.

They have dodgy electrics from the start, add to that a roof that is so poorly designed and made it lets more water in than it keeps out and you'll soon see why it's a bad idea!

People don't tend to scrap £3000+ cars for 3 figure bills so I've got no idea what relevence you think the fact there are 5 of them parked near you has? :confused:
