World record for fastest 1-60 in WoW
In vanilla, and through tbc when it actually mattered before 1-60 got nerfed into oblivion in wrath it was actually joana/mancow.
World first level 70, 80, 85 in WoW

World first 70 was attained by a a french mage who had a raid group of friends killing mobs which he tagged in order to get xp.

World first 80 was done by some warlock who found a clever trick in dragonblight zone - i think.

Personally i think he is an annoying asshat - but each to their own.

Went on to play some coop. I logged in fine, he's stuck on hero list. I attempted to start a game to kill stuff while I waited, couldn't start. Relogged, now stuck on hero list.

Its getting beyond a joke. Blizzard are supposed to have years of experience running battle.net and one of the most popular MMOs in the western world. How can they be so ****ing incompetent when it comes to maintaining the servers for D3? Its not like they have no experience in that area.

I think people are making the mistake of believing that running WoW for years means they can just copy and paste configuration over for Diablo.

Imo, with something this scale no amount of experience is going to make it 100% perfect at launch. WoW didn't have close to this number of user when it launched, and realms have far less on them. Even Steam was tiny in terms of numbers, and these services have ramped up slowly over time. D3 has just taken a sledgehammer to the nuts from the off in terms of population. No starting small and scaling up.

It's got problems, but they're working to fix them, it's not like they're sitting there with their thumbs up themselves.

Its still experience dealing with similar things. If they were even remotely competent they'd be able to apply something they learnt.

As for problems getting fixed. Who knows. We're getting told sod all. Game randomly breaks, no explanation. Game is patched and still totally broken, no explanation. No ETA's when it'll be fixed. So either they have no clue whats wrong and don't want to admit it or they aren't actually doing anything. Given that things haven't improved one iota (in fact they seem to have gotten worse), I am hard pressed to believe they're actually doing something to fix it.

Judging by the video about the Butcher, I couldn't agree more. The guy is a complete tool.

Yey, killed Diablo on nightmare, now to continue onto hell... oh wait, I need to be level 50 first :( guess some grinding on nightmare it is. why limit difficulties by level?

How did you get through nightmare without hitting 50?

I'm not through act III on nightmare and I'm level 45 not repeated any quests except revisit check points if the game kicks me out etc.

admittedly being a barba i do let mobs swarm me to use revenge and kill em all for xp boosts.

killing 35 in a row gets you 1000-1500 xp on act III which is nice.

Continued trundling through hell with my wizard last night, genuinely frustrating. Against nearly all elite packs it seems like the only thing I can do is run backwards halfway through the level while frantically casting blizzard and hydras, I've got no chance of actually attacking myself because if I stop I'm dead in 2/3 hits. This isn't hard, it's unfair. Health potions heal about a quarter of my health, so they're basically useless. My defensive skills don't cooldown quick enough either.

For example one pack I came up against were quicker than me and had meteor, so literally the only thing I could do is run around in a circle casting blizzard and hydra hoping that they did damage while dying frequently because they were quicker than me! What else was I supposed to do?

Managed to kill the butcher with a DH friend of mine, again all I did in the fight was cast a hydra in the middle of the arena and run around in a circle to avoid fire/his leash attack, it was boring as ****. What happened to those 6billion builds Blizzard?

Think I gained about 2 levels in act 4 :/

Had an extended play yesterday, still on normal mode act II but am level 25 now. Why am i only getting level 9 rares drop? I appreciate the stats are random but surely they have to do something about the loot levels. I spent 10k on the ah and got a nice weapon i wouldn't be able to get as a drop for another 10 -15 levels.

forget the drops - just buy from the AH.

Also I want to farm the herding staff, if im on Nightmare act 3 atm and i go back to a previous level (say act 1) it says it will lose my saved progress does this mean I have to do all of act 2 again? or does it just mean i will have to start a part of act 3 again?

you may potentially lose a very small amount of progress in your current quest, but you can jump back to where you were
