You should edit out the m-word. What he said is ok by the forum rules, I think, but calling someone something like that has resulted in a temp ban for me in the past. :/

I agree though. Sadly though it still shows you that he posted and tempts you to un-ignore someone just to see what they said. I'd prefer the ignore function if it made that person disappear - of course though it couldn't stop them being quoted.

There will be an estimated 1 million people on or near the Thames today, if a mere 750 of those are there to "protest" then we are a very long way indeed from being a republic, thank God.

As for wishing the death of someone, thanks for telling us all we need to know about republicans.

Correct, but do you really think a private company will keep the residences in top condition when the visitor numbers start dropping ?

Plus our tax would increase due to the loss of some 200 million pounds that the Royals give back from land taxes.
 
The Royal family is great, most of them work VERY hard fundraising for various events and charities, as well as the amount of tourism they generate. People are ignorant if they think that the Royals just sit around doing nothing all day

This country would be much less without them

why would the land tax stop? do they take the lane with them? or does it become someone elses

Are you being intentionally obtuse or do you really not understand?

Giving you the benefit of the doubt... those buildings are looked after by tax, without the Monarchy we wouldn't have the tourist income, prestige, etc etc etc that the Monarchy provides. If you then sold those buildings on and had private companies look after them, they'd seek to maximise profit on a vanishing industry while cutting costs back.

no one would want to come and see the insides of any of the palaces.

i mean cmon man no one visits any other museums ......... all those stately homes and anwick castle etc no one visits them because they dont have a royal family !

Sorry I didn't realise it was difficult to be driven somewhere wave a few times and leave again, admittedly, being a Royal has to be difficult, I mean Charles, Philip and Harry seem to **** it up weekly, but come on, hardly grafting is it?

Have you ever used a steam hammer? thats a hard graft
