Diamond Jubilee - why this weekend?

Thanks Ma'am for everything and congratulations on the 60 years of reign. And the good show on TV.

I'm celerating today by making a nectarine puff pastry tart to share around the house.
 
Think that bbc commentator might want to get his facts right, he stated HMS Belfast was 91000 tons, from what im seeing on wiki and other sites its more like 10,500 to 11,500 depending on the source. Just a tad out :)
 
Sky TV has just said that the protesters on the bridge have given up after counter-protesters surrounded them singing our National Anthem. :)
 
I should be clear Sky News said that's what they had been told - so they're reporting that they've been told that rather than reporting it happened.

Still, I hope that is what happened. Protesting the monarchy on the Jubilee weekend is in terribly poor taste.

Given some peoples holiday allowance is given as a sum that includes bank holidays it's understandable because all it means is they get one less day of holiday that they can choose when to take.

Once again the left on this forum have shown themselves to be 2-dimentional and child-like in their thinking, how they're able to breath in the real world is beyond me.

LOL it was at most 750 people out of 1 million out today. Then they gave up after people began singing the National Anthem ! Went home in a sulk!

They've generated more money for this country than you ever will.

They keep what they have for years, being passed down the generations, the Queen is not at all extravagant in her spending.
They're more cost efficient than people on the dole IMO

There's no point in arguing with these people, they'll use the facts that back up their arguments (usually misleading or twisted in some way) and ignore all the others.

I believe troll is the generalised description :)

So would I if i was born into a royal luxury lifestyle oh and btw she has people managing everything for her, she's pretty much surrounded by staff telling her where to go next. She doesn't wake up one morning and say i'm going to India tomorrow, she will have set plans by staff

I find it strange how god is going to "save" the queen considering that god is another creation of the establishment to control the people. But thats another argument for another thread.

Also if its so treasonous how come the police haven't kicked my door in and carted me off to the tower of london, oh yeah thats right this isn't 300 years ago :rolleyes:

im also selling my jubilee medal on ebay and donating the money to the republic campaign group, that should annoy you even more
