I have nothing in qualifications, but pay a lot of tax which I'm happy to do as long as it doesn't end up in your pocket. If some of that tax props up our monarchy then that's great. I believe they actually get very little now, and royal plc pays its own way

Congratulations on using the same style argument as the fundamentalist Christians do in America - it's nice to know what level you are on.

You make it sound like we didn't have to fight for hundreds of years against the monarchy to get the level of democracy we have currently.

Regarding the world war comment.

Do you really think people fought for the queen?, or to stop family members getting killed by bombs?.

Our royal family would have been on the first plane to out of the UK had we started to lose the war - much like the Royals of europe did.

Id be more ashamed by the fact you are just following other idiotic uneducated ideas on the Royal benefit to this country.

As for that picture its probably not much different to our Prime Ministers shaking hands and meeting with the likes of Gadaffi and Hussain etc.

If we are as bad as the Americans then I think things could be worse. Everyone I know who have been there get treated with more respect in places than they do over here. Because they have a bit of pride about themselves. Many UK folk couldn't care less.

I'm afraid to say that is quite true. In the US I felt very welcome most places I went and people just seemed happier and polite. Over here there is a large margin of people who are incredibly self opinionated, negative, judgmental, bitter and out right rude. Simply It's "cool" to be an arse.

what country are you comparing yourself to? A country without a flag? Here in Norway people raise a flag on the house if it's someone's birthday, a national holiday or some other significant event. The flag is everywhere. If I look out my window I can see 2.
