Stella Shandy Argument

On a more important note you should up your style. For solid ales which are easily found and very good:

Hobgoblin
Old Hooky
Old Peculiar
Old Speckled Hen
Dark Lord (sadly not the incredibly expensive and hard to find one, but the batemans one)

Just a few. Then expand. Stella isn't a drink. It's vermin urine combined with tramp urine in order to make a relatively high alcohol %age beverage.

Really?! I remember when Stella was 5.2% then I was aware of it being nerfed to 5.0%. Didn't know it's dropped even further. Is this the gov't sticking its oar into the brewing industry? I've noticed that Guiness has dropped from 5.0% to 4.1% and most alcopops have dropped too. I can understand the alcopops though because it having an appeal to kids, but I don't get why beers are dropping. What's next - wine dropping to 8%? Whiskey dropping to 20% lol.

Tax, tax, tax. Inbev saved millions by cutting the volume of alcohol they produce.

Won't see it with Scotch whisky -this must be a minimum of 40%. Also, because you water spirit down with whisky, I imagine the tax arrangements for the alcohol produced are somewhat different to beer/ciders where the alcohol starts at 0% and is created.

Thanks, didn't realise it was that :-) True about watering whiskey down. I'm a gin drinker, watered down as a g&t.

larger tops on a hot day is nice for the first couple of pints then on to Guinness.

It's much better when women wear smaller tops on a hot day.

And Albert? Those dreams of being an accountant, well, they'd best stay as dreams I'm afraid.

Marketing is an amazing thing for sure, on the continent Stella is indeed in the same bracket as skol is. Triple its price though and get some idyllic French themed adverts and its elevated from tramp juice to perceived quality beer.
