I'm *not* a security expert by any means, but I thought this had been patched in recent times. (The one I'm thinking of involved the proxy server decrypting the traffic and rencrypting with it's own SSL key. There may (ASSUME) be others)
Either way, be wary and keep an eye on your accounts, but IMHO putting the whole thing through the proxy carries less risk to your EA account than changing IP halfway through the purchase
If you're getting a 404 error, just browse to the root EA store page, and it ought to work.

EA have really messed up with the regional pricing for this.
The Australian PS3 gamers are getting good and shafted. Premium is AU$50 on the Origin store (roughly 1.1 to the US$ so nothing in it) for Aus PC gamers.
However the PS3 market place for Aus says that Premium is AU$78 !!! more than 50 % surcharge.
EA and Sony are currently blaming each other....

Could some please show me how to do this with Google Chrome cos I just seem to be getting the 404 error and don't really know what I'm doing tbh 
EA + PC gaming? lol ok.
They have killed off more developers than i can remember, hell as soon as EA buys a company, any self respecting developer/coder/artist whatever just leaves, they knew it ends up as a sinking ship.

I only know how to do it in firefox, but basically you...
go into tools>options>advanced>network>settings
Enter 119.226.108.30 port 8080
Tick "use the proxy server for all protocols"
Save.
Google Origin India and if it's worked, you should see the price of BF3 Premium as 1499Rs (rupees)
Games down under are expensive when I was living there few years back my mate brought madden for 115 dollars

Since the patch it wont let me join a B2K server unless I buy premium. Beforehand I could play the normal maps by clicking continue. Im not sure they will bother fixing that bug
