What % of drivers do you let out at junctions?

I will let people out if it's not slowing people behind me down (e.g. there's a long road with side turnings where I often queue for lights).

It's not inconveniencing me any (I get there one car length slower) and it helps traffic flow generally and the person waiting to be let out specifically.

Driving a van a bit at work has convinced me this is the sensible thing to do.

Why wouldn't you let BMW drivers out? :S

Also I let buses out a lot which annoys everyone behind me.

I'm the same - anyone who is working gets a give way from me :-)

For others it's situational but if they are being aggressive then they can stay where they are :-)

Massively situational.

No point letting someone out when there is 1 car behind you and nothing behind that.

Conversely will ALWAYS let someone out if they are crossing my lane to go in the opposite direction when my lane flow is slow.

Also. No indication, not letting you out - As punishment :D

PRetty much exactly this.

Dont mind letting people out but the only thing which gets on my wick and i wont let in are the people who think the can cut a load of traffic out then jump in...not in front of me sunshire.

You mean merge in turn correctly as per the road signs and highway code?:eek:

On my commute to work I normally let anyone out, but only one car unless traffic is really slow in my lane.

Although it annoys me when I flash someone and they miss an opportunity/gap to cross my lane and go in the opposite direction. PAY ATTENTION! I then floor it while they realise their mistake.

Oh and I normally let two or so into the road I turn into for work as they're all trying to get in on time like me. Bugs me when someone uses the car infront of them as a shield and pulls in too, i'd of let you in anway, ****!

You don't have to give way to Mini Cabs, they'll just make you take evasive action. I've had no end of problems with them in my area - utter idiots.

If it doesn't slow me down too much I let people out. Except for chavvy corsas, they can wait.

You're doing it wrong.

....not even worth it

I generally let everyone out but always immediately regret letting pensioners out.

If you're driving something special I will hold up all traffic to let you out :D

I only let out bmw drivers or people that drive exotic cars. How about that.

TBH, this for me. But any "nice car" really no matter what it is (unless the driver is chav). I don't let people who look like they drive slowly or will annoy me with constant breaking/driving at 20mph towards green traffic lights and for them to go red as we near them/pulling away really slowly.

Ie.

Ford Focus = No
Ford Focus ST/RS = Yes!

VW Golf = No
VW Golf GTI with Monza alloys/R32 = Yes!

Mercedes C180 CDI = No
Mercedes AMG Model (identified by 6 pot/large brakes and a sneaky "V8"/"V12" badge on the side = Yes!

Ford Mondeo = No
Ford Mondeo ST220 = Yes!

etc etc etc

No i mean for example.

50mph 3 lanes - inside lane has and exit onto motoway people in lane 1+2 doing 70+ mph slamming brakes on to try get in then try forcing their way in. Rather than just waiting in the que. all they do in turn is actually cause more traffic than help it.

If there's a queue of traffic, I'll let one out and I'd expect the person behind me to do the same. I never let out:

1) Buses, I'm not getting stuck behind it while some old woman counts out 1p's for her fare at the next stop.
2) Taxi drivers, **** them
3) Tractors
4) Lorries
5) Old people

In the BMW I let out people depending on traffic behind.

In the Smart, people just pull out in front of me regardless.

Closer to home I let all and sundry out, 'cos I will be in their shoes later on.
