Just logged in to find myself with 0 gold but fully kitted from before I went on holiday last week. Is this a bug I've missed while I've been away or has my account been compromised somehow? If it's been compromised I don't get why they wouldn't sell all my stuff too...

They leave you with your gear so you can go out and earn gold for them to take again at a later date I believe. Most hacks have been left with enough stuff to carry on without a HUGE setback. You might think thats the hackers being nice, but its actually them giving you the means to earn them more gold. Get an authenticator, change all your credentials (password, email etc), do a full scan with anti virus and also use an anti malware program and open a blizzard ticket about the situation on their website.

Compromised. You need to get yourself an authenticator and contact support, they should rollback your account, if it happens again though you'll be banned from using the Real Money Auction House.

Take a look at the below post for more info.

sigh, I dunno how they got me, I'm guessing password got phished then. Authenticator has just been added so fingers crossed I'm ok now. Doing full scans etc now as well.

This might scare you, so read on at your own risk but... :(

Hackers use macros to join and leave thousands of games a day, and then the hacker will simply phish everybody's information themselves through Blizzards poor servers. This means that by simply joining a public game, or opening your own to the public; you can get phished and have not only your Diablo III account compromised, but your World of Warcraft account compromised aswell.

I've not joined a public game at all, 100% solo play so it can't be that :/

Edit, I hope the rollback isn't too far. I'd spent a fair amount in the AH just before going on holiday 10 days ago :(

Its possible you got e-phished then, have you got an old RuneScape account by any chance? Or have you visited any dodgey websites?

Also, Blizzard roll you back to any point in the last 14 days I think, so if you are fast about it, they'll know at which point to roll you back to get your gold back, the one thing Blizzard does well is this, but then again they have no choice when everything they have at the moment is subscription or deals with real life credentials.

Spoiler tags need to be changed to tinfoil hat tags...

Nothing that I can think of, nope to runescape. Oh well, **** happens I suppose. Hopefully I'll be good to go and don't get rolled back too far.

If Blizzard had of been compromised we'd have been notified, regardless of what you think they would not have let us just think otherwise. Also, "hackers" try to phish your information either through dodgy links, or they pair up your Battle.net information from other sites that have been compromised that you've used the same user/pass combination on.

Ah, no idea then, they'll roll you back to when you had your gold. :)

Just gonna explain the RuneScape thing just so everyone reading knows; but there is a hacker using a cloned address from Jagex who is spamming people's email inbox with stuff like 'your account has been suspected of real world trading, visit blah blah blah' and then actually linking a cloned website that emulates RuneScape itself, only it phishes your credentials and installs a keylogger onto your system which steals every username/password entry for every website you visit. So make sure your careful.

Perhaps, but you can't blame people for thinking its a leak on their end, as their servers have been downright abysmal since launch, so a security leak isn't exactly far fetched. The consumer shows almost daily with mods and freeware how advanced they are compared to companies, someone or a group of people could easily of developed abit of kit that can do something like this.

Hit Act 3 Inferno with my Witch Doctor, total brick wall.

Mana seems like a flawed mechanic, it just regenerates too slowly. The fact they do not get a "free" attack is silly, it hurts mana even more. Pets are pointless past Nightmare, they just insta die. Spamming Darts with 2 mana saving / regen passives still causes me to eventually go out of mana. Hope they get a lot of love in 1.1, as in general I found the class better than my Wizard (or at least more potential to be better if the problems were resolved).

Well, just had my ticket 'answered' saying "Thank you for contacting us via the blizzard customer support website, having investigated your issue, regretably we cannot find any signs of illegal access to your account, which means we cannot currently offer any refunds. Please accept our apology for any inconvenience this may cause you."

Sent a response back saying:

Hello,

I would like to reiterate that I am not asking for a refund, I am asking for my account to be rolled back to a point where I had my gold. My account has obviously been compromised as when I logged in to resume the game I was back at Act I Normal first quest which would suggest my gold has been moved to a very low level character, as commonly used by hackers.

As I previously stated, I had not accessed my account myself since 31st May so any activity on my Diablo III account was not by me, or authorised by me. I do not share my account details with anyone, nor does anyone but myself use my computer.

I don't know if it's possible for you see but I have also never joined a public game, nor have I ever contacted another player in the game.

I have updated my security details and added an authenticator to prevent this from happening again however it has happened prior to me doing this, hence the rollback request.

I think that sounds pretty reasonable and enough to warrant a rollback right?

Just got this back:

"We have reviewed our logs for the Diablo III account attached to this Battle.net account, and it does not appear that it was compromised."

What on earth are they on about? Surely they can see that my gold leaves my character and goes to another that isn't me?

Sigh, I'm really disappointed in Blizzard with this. I'm asking for a rollback whereby I get 0 advantage by doing so. I didn't even have huge amounts of gold, maybe 250k.
