***The Official Samsung Galaxy S III Thread***

AirDroid is what I've got installed but will try that tonight^

I find SwiFTP to be perfect for transferring files I already Know I want, Firefox has it saved already so it's just 2 clicks and I'm logged into the phone transferring files. With AirDroid and the like it's a bit clunkier than a simple FTP interface but is needed if you don't know the files you want and need thumbnails to guide you.

Oh, airdroid looks very good! Will also give that a try later on, if transfer speeds are good it will replace wifi file transfer :)

Found this quite amusing :p

(For best performance IE is not recommended)

:D

Likewise, I know what I want to transfer etc. when it comes to just file names and no thumbnails, the nicer UI just makes thing that little bit better and easier I find though. Btw you can do that to with wifi file transfer, just go to my computer and enter the username and password into the search/location bar or bookmark the login page on your browser :p

Main reason I switched from swiftp to wifi file transfer was due to the huge difference in transfer speeds, well for me anyway :p

Airdroid's benefit is that it can play videos in the browser directly from the phone, which is handy :p

Although those 1080p 30Mbit camcorder videos might want to be skipped ¬_¬

Anyone with an OTG cable close by, can you plug a USB mic into it and see if the camcorder records audio through it?

2011's Google IO reported hardware spec support for USB audio but it was open to developers to take advantage of. I'm wondering if Samsung might have done something cool here and not documented :p

Any type of USB mic? Only one I have is one from a Wii.

Update: It sees the USB being plugged in, but does not recognise it as a mic or audio device in any way and records through the internal mic.
Mic is a Logitech mic from Wii Games like X-Factor and U Sing.

I played an unconverted 1080p file from my DSLR (I think it's over 30Mbit) which I had copied on to the SD card. Worked perfectly

Again cannot do an OTA update unless you have stock recovery on the device. Use KIES or Odin.

Where does it pickup that there is an updated firmware?
The phone told me there was an OTA update, but KIES tells me Im on the latest firmware (LE6)

Im on stock vodafone, but have rooted...

Damn, someone should develop an app that does this for sure! Thanks for checking.

Clicky

That one? What should I be paying? Need a decent screen protector as well I guess.

That's the one yep.

Ah that's good to hear! I tried a few files that failed to render in the browser but they were h264 high profile videos and assumed the 30Mbit ones might fail too.
