I'm also for some reason just as excited about the idea of comp videos as I am about the comp. Must be because I'm about as vain as it gets :p;).

LiE, that is a cracking idea. It's a shame they don't allowed logo-ed t-shirts in meets otherwise I think I'd have to get an ocuk one :). I could just get a wacking great tattoo of it on my back then present it in a lat spread :p.

Haha :D

I'm looking forward to it now, having gotten past the frustration of having to massively sandbag my lifts.

Current comp PBs:

Squat 200kg

Bench 117.5kg

Deadlift 205kg

Those were done with a bad shoulder and messed up hand from american football :o. I'll definitely be getting comp PBs in bench and deads, but I'll have to see on the day about squats because I really don't want to load up my glute injury. I also don't want to go too heavy on the deads because I want to keep training it hard next week.

In summary, it's going to be a bit of a lolcomp.

Realistically, I'm not even going to be able to put in a great performance at nationals. By then I'll have just about carefully worked my squat back up to 225-230kg, but I want MOAR!

Comp is in Woking. There was one in Bristol a month or so ago, but I wasn't even squatting at that point!

The only chance of a PB is with benching, and 135kg is hardly worth wrecking a t-shirt over :p

If I get the squat record at some point (:o), then I will set myself on fire and draw out "OCUK" with my flailing arms.

my branch of FF (Bristol Cribbs) is one of the ones up for sale.

It's a bit small so i reckon it might end up closing down. Time for somewhere new maybe...

The Dunstable/Luton border Fitness First where I train is another one up for sale. They took away the coffee and tea facilities annoyingly when they moved the ladies area to the rest area, so they could make the free weights area bigger.

But they already have a ladies only gym in the town centre

It may be time for a new gym, but I haven't found anywhere as convenient just yet. My training partner is likely to be leaving as he wants to do climbing and cycling more. I'm going to carry on lifting and climbing though.

How odd...Just had someone write this on my blog:

Hi Craig,

I stumbled across your blog and noticed the great content on your site. I am wondering if you allow guest posts because I recently have been researching and writing about how beneficial cancer support networks and also staying physically fit is to people going through treatments, in remission, and even family members of cancer patients. I believe an article on one of those two topics would mesh with your blog very well and also benefit your readers tremendously. This is an important message to get out there so please let me know if you would be interested in seeing it and sharing it with your readers.

Thank you for all you do in making a difference,

David

P.S: David, that isn't you is it? :p

Excuse me? Let people make up their own mind about drugs that fall under the misuse of drugs act? We are not talking about Omega 3 oils here. We are talking about a legal framework that classifies certain chemical compounds as dangerous.

I do not care how engrained in your culture it is, i do not care how acceptable you think it is, i do not care if you are a tree hugging hippie taking shrooms fighting the facist corporate regime, a controlled substance is a controlled substance. If you are taking a controlled substance without medical grounds to do so, then that is an idiotic decision.

Sorry, if it's that dangerous why is testosterone given to a wide variety of people with illnesses? That's right, because according to the government (a bunch of out of shape toffs who more than likely know nothing about them, just have a grudge towards people better than they are), they will help you if you're sick, but if you want to use them for recreational purposes they'll turn you into a murderous psychopath and give you cancer.

Vitamins can be dangerous when taken in high doses, they're not illegal. People commit suicide using aspirin, again not illegal. The sole reason steroids are "banned" is because they don't want them to be used in sports.

By the way, it is actually legal to possess pharmaceutical grade steroids for personal use.

Fortunately, I was educated to a reasonable standard so that goes without saying. When something is legally classified as a Class C controlled drug (and you can justify with 'personal use in a medicinal form' till the cows come home, doesn't change the fact its a controlled substance) - I know to stay well clear. Unfortunately, that message does not appear to have disseminated properly amongst the true Harley riders.

Like pot users who 'like, i need it man, it clears me head so i can function properly guy, its like, totally safe'
....
