***The Official Samsung Galaxy S III Thread***

Anyone got any tips on good battery life?

After 7.5 hours I'm at 50% with the majority of the battery just being the screen. Automatic brightness good or bad?

Play dispatch confirmation!

...for Oceania - The Smashing Pumpkins  I was excited for a second!
(well I am looking forward to the album, but you know...)

Amazon say they should have stock on the 16th, I'm thinking of changing to them, I would be right at the back of the pre-order queue though.

I'm waiting too, ordered on the 12th

I have Light Flow Lite working OK with Handcent on my Galaxy Nexus.

Initially it wasn't working, but I ticked "Enable notifcation", "Alternate on monitoring" and "Alternate off monitoring", as well as disabling the stock SMS app and it is OK now.

Not sure why it wouldn't work on a SGS3?

Just seen those settings and then mention Handcent, have enabled and will now wait for a text :p

I'm seeing great results with my battery life, make sure nothing is constantly keeping your phone awake. I'm on about 75% after 7 hours with moderate daily use, Twitter syncing every 5mins, email etc all on push and full brightness. Screen time has only been about 45mins though.

How can I justify having two phones? I'm trying to convince myself I need an S3 when I already have a Galaxy Note :o

Flog the Note.

Go sms pro is a very good sms app, better than handcent as well IMO.

I think it allows you to change notification LED colours (not sure if this works on the GS 3 though), the notification LED works for me on my 1S.

What happened to "I could never go back to a smaller screen"? :p

I'd sell the Note and get the S3.

The screen isn't THAT much smaller really, but the overall package is so much better with all the software improvements, LED notification, camera speed etc. I'm surprised you haven't got one yet, or have you?

I really like my Note and don't want to sell it but it seems silly having both. I can see myself being in this same situation again when the Note 2 comes out. :/

Keep the note as a dedicated Draw Something phone, use the S3 for everything else?

Lol. I got bored of that.

Well the tracking finally updated, my S3 has been out for delivery since 8:03 this morning, had three texts to say phone is coming today, last one said it can be delivered up to 9pm tonight although I doubt it will. Good old Yodel :(

.

Screens the killer.

Today I am on 9h 42 mins

I have checked emails (on push), made and received some calls (22m), sent and read some texts, played games for 10 mins and currently on 70% charge.

Screen time is only 33 mins though.

Yesterday I had screen time of over 4 hours and was down to under 30%.

Set at 60% btw.

Sounds familiar. I did ring cpw (they have a delivery option) and they can check with Yodel to confirm the delivery. It helped for me.

Well I spoke too soon, woman in a car just pulled up and handed me a bag with the phone in. Seriously Yodel? Thats the secure courier?

Oh well I guess I can get started playing with my new toy! :D Oh and ITS BLUE!

I thought the same when the Nexus came out, I don't feel the usability issues the Note has (unable to be used properly in one hand for example) are worth the bigger screen. The 4.7/4.8" phones provide a great experience with none of the downsides!

Not yet! The blue one isn't in stock here yet and I want to see it first before deciding on what colour, though I'm 90% sure I'll go for the blue.

I've seen and used both, and to be honest I don't think there is much in it. I'd personally go for the blue simply because my wife has the white one, so it'd be nice to have one of each.

Hmm, I might put it out that my Notes for sale and see if I get any decent offers from people I know.
