'sorry but EVERY game still drops to 59 fps every few seconds even when standing still. most of the stuttering is gone but that is very irritating as its impossible to stay perfectly synced all the time. '

'after playing Assassins Creed Brotherhood I can see noticeable stutter every now and then moving the camera around even with 60fps with fraps '

'Stutter still there for me, this is disheartening.. :( '

The stuttering is fixed for me, sort of.

Before with vsync off, when running the Heaven benchmark I would see what looked like as if the camera was snagging while moving. This was despite the frame being over 100.

With adaptive vsync enabled with the beta drivers that snagging is gone! The motion is as silky smooth as it should be, framerate locked at around 60 (see it going 59, 60.1 etc). So this is a major improvement, just need to test it with more games.

However, how does this bode for people with 120hz monitors? I don't have one to test, but if you had to lock it at 60hz to get rid of the stutter that would be a right killjoy.

Need to re-install a driving game to see if it fixes it there too. That's where it was really noticeable.

That's when the forum paranoia comes into full force gregster.:(

Misguided thoughts of me having a dig when it's not.

Did you see any smileys when I put up the info, or shouting from the rooftops?

No, and no again.

From the 'spec me a 7970 thread' where I never even once mentioned 'get a 7970':

Most of the users here reporting of the stutter being fixed, never had it to begin with...

Hope everyone isn't jumping the gun regarding the 'fixed' stutter issue, beta's just out and some users still reporting of having stutter@Nvidia forum.

By all means wait and see a week or two before deciding if you are thinking about getting another 670.

This is not a dig, just wouldn't like the poor guy to get another 670 only to have to send it back again.:(

It's a fair point, have also been closely following the Nvidia forum.

One question though, how do you know if most of the users reporting the issue as being fixed never had it to start with?

Ultimately I think I will wait a bit longer but am very tempted by the VTX looks like a great card.

Rusty0611 and opethdisciple luckily never had the stutter to begin with, but both report it as fixed.

Meaning, it would take someone like yourself and others, who actually had the stutter to begin with to report it actually being fixed.

Actually 2 minutes of digging showed that it was fixed. :)

Not saying 100% but the 15 or so posts I checked.

Hmm, dunno, there seems to be a lot still having the same problem, a few on this page http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=226227&st=1560

Agree that it's fixed it for some, but I would have thought it should have fixed it for all?

That's where I've been looking rusty, there's a much higher number reporting on the problem in there.

There is already posts as dave later pointed out that it's not fixed for all, hence my post.

Well the bit that was far from convincing for me was in the notes on the nvidia site where it states something along the lines of "we've made it smoother" for the rare few that had vsync stutter issue.

It didn't say, we've fixed it completely. I guess the only way to go is to sit back for a bit and see what other find.

If I really disliked Nvidia that much, again, wouldn't I have told the op go and get a 7970, instead of telling him to wait a couple of weeks and see what happens?

Give it up man, are you not capable of realising I don't give a **** if it's red or green in my rig?

I shall leave you with some of this:

I highly recommend clicking the Nvidia link below and downloading the Elemental video watch it in all it's glory, it is simply stunning!

Running on a single 680!

Using PhysX.:D

if it is indeed full of PhysX goodness, then it looks like I'll be going to the 'green side' next time(don't really care if PhysX is worth it or not, I'll want it and I'll have it god damn it!)!

Folks are jumping the gun with 'it's fixed' when it's not is someone's huge pita when they pull the trigger, buy it to send it back at a cost.

I would crack up if it happened to me and I'm sure you would too.

It wasn't a dig Tommy. You are more than correct in the fact that it has helped some but not everyone. This is something I am sure will easily be resolved and hopefully sooner rather than later.

Thing is, it's easy to quote one reply on a forum in which they say it hasn't fixed their issue but it doesn't really give a balanced view.

Fair enough there are plenty more that can be found, but equally from what I've seen so far, more people seem happy than not.

Either way, if your my boat (in which I've already sent back one 670 and am in need of a new card ASAP) the only way to find out for sure is to get another or a 7970. I guess at least it could be sent back its hardly the end of the world, hmm...

Wait a for the drivers to go WHQL then depending on what people say, get a 670 or a 7970.

That was three separate users on the one page from the link provided.

Since yesterday there has been countless 'it's fixed' quotes in various threads from users that never had the problem in the first place.

No different to you saying it's not fixed. Same thing, different end of the scale. No way to tell if the people that are saying it's not fixed are even having the actual reported stutter issue.

p.s. love the way you've quoted a whole thread almost and posted it in one huge post for what purpose? All gregster said was that you make him smile and you go to extraordinary efforts to prove you're neutral :p
