Most of the users here reporting of the stutter being fixed, never had it to begin with...
Hope everyone isn't jumping the gun regarding the 'fixed' stutter issue, beta's just out and some users still reporting of having stutter@Nvidia forum.
By all means wait and see a week or two before deciding if you are thinking about getting another 670.
This is not a dig, just wouldn't like the poor guy to get another 670 only to have to send it back again.![]()
It's a fair point, have also been closely following the Nvidia forum.
One question though, how do you know if most of the users reporting the issue as being fixed never had it to start with?
Ultimately I think I will wait a bit longer but am very tempted by the VTX looks like a great card.
Rusty0611 and opethdisciple luckily never had the stutter to begin with, but both report it as fixed.
Meaning, it would take someone like yourself and others, who actually had the stutter to begin with to report it actually being fixed.
Actually 2 minutes of digging showed that it was fixed.
Not saying 100% but the 15 or so posts I checked.
Hmm, dunno, there seems to be a lot still having the same problem, a few on this page http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=226227&st=1560
Agree that it's fixed it for some, but I would have thought it should have fixed it for all?![]()
That's where I've been looking rusty, there's a much higher number reporting on the problem in there.
There is already posts as dave later pointed out that it's not fixed for all, hence my post.
Well the bit that was far from convincing for me was in the notes on the nvidia site where it states something along the lines of "we've made it smoother" for the rare few that had vsync stutter issue.
It didn't say, we've fixed it completely. I guess the only way to go is to sit back for a bit and see what other find.
I highly recommend clicking the Nvidia link below and downloading the Elemental video watch it in all it's glory, it is simply stunning!
Running on a single 680!
Using PhysX.![]()
if it is indeed full of PhysX goodness, then it looks like I'll be going to the 'green side' next time(don't really care if PhysX is worth it or not, I'll want it and I'll have it god damn it!)!
Oh yea, didn't see that
Thing is, it's easy to quote one reply on a forum in which they say it hasn't fixed their issue but it doesn't really give a balanced view.
Fair enough there are plenty more that can be found, but equally from what I've seen so far, more people seem happy than not.
Either way, if your my boat (in which I've already sent back one 670 and am in need of a new card ASAP) the only way to find out for sure is to get another or a 7970. I guess at least it could be sent back its hardly the end of the world, hmm...![]()

Installing this driver instantly crashes BF3 on loadup for me.
That was three separate users on the one page from the link provided.
Since yesterday there has been countless 'it's fixed' quotes in various threads from users that never had the problem in the first place.
