I had the same issues until I saw a build someone posted on the official forums - it was an amazing moment!

skills:
crippling wave - concussion (left mb)
sweeping wind - balde storm (right mb)
breath of heaven - blazing wrath
serentity - peaceful repose
inner sanctuary - circle of protection
mantra of evasion - hard target

with resolve, seize the initiative and one with everything.

so you get mob damage reduction and aoe damage with the spirit builder, sweeping wind is awesome if you can keep it up, it melts white mobs. as an example i fought the first boss in act 4 hell with it on toe to toe, sweeping wind took out all the shadow things before they could touch me. granted it's pretty useless if you have to kite but it's great for loads of mobs.

you get the damage buff with BoH and blazing wrath, 3 second immunity and a heal with serentity. inner sanctuary is a funny one, sometimes useful, most times not. i have swapped it out for 7 sided strike and mystic ally but i've always gone back. mantra of evasion increases dodge, plus if you spam it you get an extra dodge change which can prove useful.

that set up got me through hell with ease tbh with pretty **** gear. admittedly now inferno is a different story but i'm not using the AH.

Can only say thank you for this, played for a couple of hours last night before the football and it made a huge difference. Think I died once and cleared most of act 2.

Plus you wouldn't want it to be competitive because then you're going to have blizz balancing things for PvP and PvE which isn't going to work, just look at WoWs imbalanced PvP.

What were the stats on the item?
 
This patch has killed my interest in the game. No point in smashing barrels or items now, they nerfed all the gold and item finding from them. Its obvious they've done it for the Auction house to increase the rarity of items. No increase in chance for you to get decent items at lower level.

Where's the fun to this?

Well, i was at 92k damage last night, now im at 72k, i didn't expect such a big hit, along with that my spec is ****ed, lost for words.

they have nerfed smashing barrels ? :(
 
Anyone else think that the huge gold-sinking repairs lend themselves to push people to spend on the RMAH?

Might have been said before, I might need to take off my tinfoil hat!

Farmed early and hard, took about 3 days to make that much. Much harder to make gold that fast now unless you get really lucky and net a big ticket item like a perfect Stormshield.

Just got an auction cancellation email for Bliz but doesnt tell me which one or why its been cancelled and cant check coz for once I'm not working at home. Bah!
