It was only ever one rare

Problem is, I had several mobs in act II that dropped 2-3 rares. Then I went to play my Barb on Hell (below 60). The 2 people I was playing with were getting rares quite regularly, I was getting practically nothing.

Everyone i know thought it was 2, there are threads all over the place asking the same, im not the only one who thought it was 2.

Barb - 35k health, 450 resists and 10k DPS going to get me far in inferno? Just finished off hell found it pretty easy.

My current weapon is

825DPS
+ 52 STR
+ 69 Vit

Would a 900DPS weapon without any stats give me much of a DPS boost?

Nope it wouldn't as you got 52 str on the weap already which is definitely around 75dps if not more which is the difference between the two.Sometimes lower dps weaps with 200 or so of the dps stat you need are a lot cheaper but out damage higher dps ones like a 700dps weap with 200 str would out damage a 800dps without str by a fair bit.

just got a chance to look at the patch notes, and i'm done with diablo.

i got as far as this, and didn't even bother reading the rest.

'Magic Find will no longer be considered when looting objects in the environment such as chests, barrels, vases, pots, and corpses'

So you sacrifice other stats and affixes for MF that doesn't work.

so not only do you have less stats for this sacrifice you have less loot...that's nice.

i can understand discounting barrels, vases and pots that seems fair - but chests? that makes no sense at all.

Too many changes from D2 for my personal taste, they seem to be going backwards on a lot of stuff and lying about the rest of it.

I hate the way the game is being handled.

R.I.P Diablo.

Assuming you are on a similar armour to me - around 7k you might find it a bit tough depending on enemies.

I'm on less life but around 650 resists and 16k dps (was 20k yesterday) and can walk act 1 on all but the toughest enemies. Imagine with the lower dps and resists it'll be more touch and go and you'll find yourself needing to be more defensive.

Thanks for that, yeah around 7k armour too, just under I think. Trouble is nothing ever decent drops and anything for an upgrade on the AH is a lot of money now.

Act 1 now can drop some pretty good stuff...had item lv63 bracers earlier with very good stats which was non existant before but the loot definitely seems better sometimes. You should be able to manage Act 1 Inferno too and find upgrades for sure now.

I dont get the whining about the repair costs, I've run through act 1 inferno a few times, spent maybe 30k max, but made 1.3mil in items.

Took me about an hour to farm all the stuff for the staff:

Well its no wonder... you clearly have gear that far surpasses what is required for Act I. Do a run on Act II, clear out regular mobs without issue, clear out some elites without issue, then come up against elites that you literally cannot beat, die to a few times and have to either try and skip them, incurring even more deaths or restarting the game and losing NV.

9500 armour and 800 all res should be more than enough to handle act II and for the most part it is. All except a few select elites like Melee type Serpents and Spiderlings who are mostly impossible.

I seem to be getting owned hard, any demon hunters that can give me an idea of the best skills/runes I should be using?

Not really, my gear is okay but nothing amazing. I tank loads of hits and just be careful to not get planted on my ass.
I can't die btw, hardcore, remember?

Done up to Skel King so far without too much trouble, hopefully get a few upgrades as I can see act2 getting a lot harder!

So why is that a surprise? You either grind for a long time to get gear that far surpasses what is required for the act or you risk death and lose everything and it only takes 1 very bad elite combination. I would've thought 9500 armour and 800 all res to be enough for act II. It isn't.

I get the feeling there isn't much build variety in hardcore?
