*** The Official Nokia Lumia 710 Thread ***

will I need a windows live account for the 710 or can I just use a google account? dont want requests and messages and status updates etc etc from people.. I dont use facebook or twitter as it does not interest me.. so basically I want to keep everything private.

I put my number in on 8th May, and it told me to come back after 5th June. So I put my number in today, and it just sent me another text asking me to come back after 5th July. Ludicrous.

Also, I recommend buying the matte screen protector (no more obvious fingerprints!) and the official Nokia soft cover.

Windows Phone was designed from the start to have your contacts stored either on Google or Windows Live. These days it's utter stupidity to have them purely on the phone/SIM card. Whatever you need to do to either sort out your Windows Live account or Google account just do it and quit complaining

Absolutely but the problem is i have used this email address for nigh on 8 years and I have literally 100's of email addresses that the phone adds every time I try to synch it to my phone. I do not want nor need phone numbers for these addresses and deleting them doesn't clear them either. I like having my contacts fri. Facebook because most of my friends are on their.the problem is, my parents, colleagues etc aren't so without setting up another address for other contacts I'm pretty much stumped. However if there was a simple add to phone/sim option everything would be fine.

It just annoys me that in this day and age everything has to be connected and online.

Other than that it's a good bit of kit.

Well there's the release date for Tango! :D

Since they are talking about this being "phased" this guide from when Mango was released to force Zune to give you the update might become useful ;)
 
Has anyone tried a custom ROM yet?


The ability to turn my phone into a hotspot would be majorily great for me especially for using it with my TouchPad!
