FFVII coming to Steam?!?!

Even if this is still the same old 1998 PC version with the absolute ****y MIDI music and low resolution, just as long as it requires no damn patches and mods to make it ******* work, I'll have no problem buying this again.

I really wished FFXII was on PC. It was a great looking and huge game for PS2 standards.

Been trying to finish this since it was released on the PS1. First my mem card got wiped about 13 hours into it then i had it on an old ass laptop that i never finished, later my psp copy wouldn't get passed a certian bit pretty much where my PS1 save got wiped. About a year later i managed to get the PSP one working and now this version is coming, might hold off now and finally get rid of my PSP.

Demon's Gate had the capability to cause lots of problems. :p

I remember getting stuck here the first time I played the game. I stupidly only had one save so had to start the game again. I didn't even care though because I loved the game so much.

This could be awesome if done properly.

I never completed Ultimecias Castle in VIII because once you go there it kind of ends the game and the open world exploration and gameplay. Theres so much stuff I never did in that game and I've played it through many times, it was fantastic.

I'd really like a HD version now though, the resolution and aliasing was horrible :(

This has the potential to be really good but Square Enix's offering this generation have been terrible. Hopefully they will spend the time to do a proper conversion to the PC platform.

Yeah. I avoided completing it for a long time too but eventually just made a separate save for her castle. I think by the time I did that my abuse of leveling up characters with GFs with +stats on them made the game ridiculously easy. I actually fell asleep in my battle with Ultimecia and when I woke up everyone was still alive due too them all having 255 in the important stats.

I played the original on PS, it's basically why I bought it. Later I got it on PC and I did the audio stuff through winamp. Then I emulated the PS version. Then I played PC version again a few times using better tools. The midi sound is utterly rubbish and needed replacing. I've no idea why they thought of doing this as the PC could easily handle wav or even mp3 at the time.

Each time I'd start again, get so far and then another game would come along so I'd put it to one side, then not get back to it.

I want a gold chocobo again. I want to beat those mega hard weapons as I never managed that.

Steam will have another purchase from me if this is true. One of my fave games is FF7.

It doesn't use Steam, it's only available from the Square Enix Store. Full details to be revealed at a later date.

I remember finding some fights incredibly difficult the first time I played it, but when I played it again last year on PSP, I just messed about wandering around fighting early on in the game and ended up leveling quite fast, and every fight in the game seemed too easy. Even Demon Gate, which I agree was infuriating, I found very easy.

The only one I struggled on was the one that always gets me- Dyne! ....I always seem to struggle for some reason.

Demon's Gate definitely was a game breaker for me at one point since I was so under levelled and couldn't do anything about it, so had to start the game all over again.

It's funny when you look back at your first playthroughs and find that certain things were really difficult, but by time you play this game so much and know the in and outs of the mechanics as well, it is actually incredibly easy.

I always tend to power level and I never realised how easy it is to get everyone's Limit Breaks as quickly as possible (All apart from the Lvl.4 of course). Even Cloud, Tifa, Barret and RedXIII can be done before you leave Midgar. Cover Materia + a Hyper for Fury status + strong hitting monsters, and you can gain them all in no time.

I also used to think that something was completely broken when you skip a Limit Break as well. For example, you only have Cloud's Lvl.1 Braver and then you suddenly get Lvl.2 Blade Beam. What happened to Lvl.1 Cross-Slash? Oh no, must restart the game all over again. :D

I can't say I've ever managed to skip a limit break! How the hell did you manage that? :p there's only two characters I've never really bothered with and that's cait sith, and Vincent. Anyone else always save at least two megalixirs and elixirs? :D standard
