It does depend which wheels you're building. Many plain retro-looking rims are cheaper to buy pre-made, but obviously you don't get your own choice of hub, spoke and rim. That said, I've not seen retro-looking rims that are £360 and up. Had I put higher-end track hubs in my Velo Orange rims they still would have clicked in at well under £200. I think mine were £120 in total.

i'm using ambrosio hubs. If i'd gone for circus monkeys, i'd have saved 42g rear and 23g front, for an extra £20

Depends on how much pedal power you can has

i think he works in west calder.

The chap with the 12mm allen key freehub body is going to try a joytech freehub body. Tune in next week for the results. wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit

Would anyone have a single Shimano road SPD cleat bolt floating about they would be able to part with?
Just found the top part on the floor and had to get the pliers out to unthread the rest!

Pop into your LBS and ask for one.
Most places will probably just give you one. Other places shouldnt charge more than 50p or something.

I'm riding it with Murf and a few others. You doing the 104 miles?
Did it last year and had a mare with mechanicals so hoping for a better experience and a silver finish time this year.

I've just been out and done a bit over 18 miles in a bit under an hour and a half. I can cope fine with that sort of range, which bodes well for commuting the 13 or so miles each way to work come the Autumn. I can't wait to get a decent road bike so I can work on my speed and start some real hill climbing.

It's also looking like I should manage the upcoming 25 mile Liverpool to Chester ride without too much bother. I'll definitely be looking for some more challenging rides once I get a decent bike. Manchester to Blackpool is looking very tempting for next year.

Guys, if you get 5 mins, post a side on pic of your bar angle. I've been playing around with mine a bit and just wondered what everyone else's preferences were and why you prefer whatever angle you have them set at.

Ta. :)
