Connect it to Kies, it should prompt you to update it. Whatever happens if this doesn't go well you can follow a ROM flashing guide and you can put on a stock rom but you might as well try the normal update process for now.

Sky go works, it's been linked in this thread about 10 times Vuvu, you just need the APK without the Model/ROM check.

In English this time please;)

Upgrade day and just ordered my SIII :)

S3 Blue, 24 months, 900 mins, 500 texts, internet, and unlimited text booster, £36 a month + £24 for the phone. Well happy

do sim cards from old (non-smart) phones work in the galaxy 3?
ive been on a sony erricson t250i for several years and im thinking of buying a new phone, ive still 9 months on this contract though.. cant upgrade till december 26th 2012 :/ so i wanted to drop this sim into a new phone

Connect your phone to Kies, the software to connect Samsung phones to PCs and it should pop up a message once connected saying "update me" or whatever, even someone with your typing should probably be able to work this one out but on the off chance you can't, ask your mum or consult the manual.

Sky go works, it's been linked in this thread about 10 times <suggesting you're in-ability to search the forums first indicates you're probably lazy>, you just need the application installer which has had it's security checks removed so that it will play on any phone.

Cainer - No. You need a microSIM which is the size of the metal interface, you can get these free from the network by phoning up (or you'll get it as part of a contract upgrade).

You'd have to cut it or exchange for a microsim.

I cycled an hour into work today, not quite sure I'm lazy ;) but thanks for the info appreciate it. The thread moves so quick. I thought the good folk on here wouldn't mind posting the answer again, I guessed wrong

I'm I right in saying you can't get sky go on ics?

It does work, although it appears that it isn't working on rooted (cf-root) devices, even with ota rootkeeper.

Maybe someone else can confirm though. Anyone managed to get it working on a rooted S3?

right what a nightmare today for me managed to sort out everything
i followed the guide for rooting and unrooting the phone
firstly i rooted the phone but it still didnt have an software update,

then i tried reverting back to the stock rom, but also used triangle to reset the flash counter, but i used orange branded rom on my tmobile phone which wasnt the right one and looks like ****, next got the right unbranded rom
which i used, but it didnt work out good
because there was no csc number at all so that means i couldnt select the right region,

so i ended doing a factory reset and then re flashed again and hey presto the everying was there including the CSC num, had a look to see it the soft update was now there and it was....Great so now i am updating to the latest firmware from samsung Kies

so happy days again!! :D
thanks for the help guys!!!
