Will be really interesting to see how he develops - and Ansenal in general if they sign M'Villa as well (the latter I really like, although I havent seen him in many matches)
He's 25, not sure he'll develop much at all, if we keep RVP I can't see him even playing properly for the next year(assuming we randomly and stupidly get RVP to stay and he walks on a free in a year). M'villa, not seen enough to say he's **** or great, but with Wilshire being fantastic, Arteta being the current best midfielder and Song being undroppable in Wenger's eyes I'm not sure which player he's going to drop for M'villa, which more than anything just suggests to me we won't get him. In reality anyone would be an improvement on Song and freeing up Arteta for a more attacking role would be great for him and us. A lot hinges on if Wilshire will play this year. He's one of our most important players right now, he's brilliant and versatile, great defensively and offensively. Him and Arteta in the team give us the flexibility to go ultra defensive, ultra attacking or anything inbetween with both players good in either role.
I just wish we were spending money on positions that would dramatically improve the team overall rather than the bench. Financially the most important thing we can do now is ditch all the rubbish, Djourou, Rosicky, Song, Diaby, Santos, Squillaci, Mertesacker, Gervinho, Walcott and Denilson(still two years on his contract afaik).
Why we gave Rosicky an extension on his contract I have no clue, 8 months of the season awful, 3 good games, new contract and screwing us for the next couple years again. I wonder how much more cash we'd have total if Diaby, Denilson, Djourou never got contract extensions and Walcott, Gervinho, Santos, Mertesacker, Squillaci had simply never been bought
