With D3 I think the key for me is the fact I haven't played it all day, every day since release, mainly because I have been out and about over the weekends and in the evenings I have only had a few hours to throw at it hence I am still really enjoying it and look forward to having a few hours to play it, either solo (WD) or with my mate (Barb) or with a group of 4 of us (DH).
As a result I can certainly see myself playing this for quite some time, however I am aware that I haven't had the pleasure of experiencing Inferno yet so my opinion may very well change but I hope it doesn't.
Playing the game Vanilla, as it were (no AH at all) I really look forward to the drops that I get, even though the majority of the time they are toilet, but then that was always the fun part of D2 for me. I never managed to complete a full set on D2, nor did I find any
really good dark yellow items, however that didn't ruin the game for me at all.
I can see the viewpoint of people saying that because of the skill changing side of things they are less likely to play through the game again with a new character of the same class, however I think I probably would, and have that one as a party character where 2-4 of us create them all at the same time and play through at the same time. I would say that would force us to use skills different to what we would use in solo mode.
All just my opinion, of course.
TL;DR I still love D3
